By the way, Kelly has 10 goals in 56 games; Spezza has 9 in 34. He's slowly creeping back. And Kovalev is only 5 back of Fisher, and he's played one game less. And he did have a 4-goal game this season.

Karlsson has 11 points; Hedman has 14. The race is on.

Kelly has been awesome for us this year. It's so refreshing to see all these guys playing to their potential again...wonder where all the sports media put us in their power rankings this week.

81 saves on 84 shots, 3 wins, 1 SO, .967 sv%, 1.00 GAA

It's possible, I don't see any player that really stood out this week. Unless the Sedins rape Toronto tonight, which is 90% possible.

3-0 toronto right now .......... which means we should be able to beat them to

Feels nice to have depth. We can put Donovan in also, and Z Smith is ready anytime.

Think about all the talent that's still coming down the pipes: Lehner, Cowen, Weircioch, Silfverberg, Petersson, etc...

Neely's whole point is that scoring isn't everything, and that people who think Spezza is "elite" and "essential to this team" spend too much time reading stats and not enough time watching games.

Try again. Smile

I challenge you to find someone who thinks Spezza is elite in here.

So, no elite, not essential to the team, not earning his $7 mil / yr -- but lord help us if we find ourselves without him? Can you really not see the problem here that your own challenge points to?

I challenge you to find one good reason to keep defending a guy who makes that kinda cash, plays that kinda game, and yet isn't elite or essential to the team.

Really? So why is he fast to point out that Kelly has more goals than Spezza?

He very rarely points out the good things Spezza does in a game, but jumps all over his mistakes. He has personal issues with Spezza I am sure of it.

Try again GAME DAY: Montreal Canadiens @ Ottawa Senators - 2:00pm ET - Sat. Jan. 30. 2010 - Page 18 54934

Spezza had a good game tonight, for sure. The point is, for $7 mil, we need to see that kind of effort, night in and night out. The legitimate concern going forward is which Spezza are we going to have going forward for the next 5 years, taking up 1/8th of our cap space -- the one who produces and is effective, or the one who does neither?

This is not about hate. This is about what's best for the team going forward. Spezza turns 27 years old this year. How long do we have to wait around for him to step into an Alfie-esque role?

Tyler Myers already finished the race...

He's the rookie of the year imo. He's doing it all in Buffalo.
