P.S. Great game by Ells. Spezza was good too (he had his giveaways, but he was more valuable than he was a commodity....u guys know its true)

Fudge yeah! 8 straight baby! New record on Saturday coming up! GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Pittsburgh Penguins - 7:00pm ET - Thu. Jan. 28. 2010 - Page 18 95132

Oh yeah, he was good with the exception of two shifts - big mistakes on those, but that aside, he was creative and moved his feet.

This team is for real ladies and gentlemen. Eight game winning streaks aren't flukes...especially when you've only given up 8 goals in that same time frame and not a single one is on the power play.

Just sick what these guys are doing right now.

You're so right. and the worst part is that it HAS to end at some point, but i don't want it too... GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Pittsburgh Penguins - 7:00pm ET - Thu. Jan. 28. 2010 - Page 18 105237

it is SO hard NOT to get all jazzed and f*$kin' stoked and in awe of what they've done under Clouston's tutelage... just incredible!!

I know it's going to end, but I just don't see the winning going away. They're going to lose one here and there at some point (hopefully not soon) but the execution of their game plan is sickening to watch.

The system they have set up is relentless and when they have this much talent and skill and hard work in the lineup it's impossible to derail them.

I honestly though Malkin scoring in like the first 2 minutes of the game was the precursor to a blowout and the end of our streak.

I don't know what's happening with this team right now, but everyone is clearly on board. We're relatively healthy for the first time all year and we're getting production from all over the lineup. Hell, Phillips almost had himself another goal tonight.

It's so true... everytime ANY sens player touches thepuck, it could end up in the net...they are determined forecheckers, collapsing lightning-quick down low and just seeing the ice so well...Smile

I don't see these guys losing, I mean, they'll lose, but they'll bounce back because for the first time since Murray - and some could argue, not even then, this team is playing a beautifully tight system. Aggressive forechecks, men back to support, feet moving, neutral zone plugged. Incredible, the guys are working to win board battles, and when they lose, another player come in.

Diddle man...this is a treat to watch. GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Pittsburgh Penguins - 7:00pm ET - Thu. Jan. 28. 2010 - Page 18 805406

It reminds me of the team that marched through the 2nd half of the season and 3 rounds of playoff hockey in 07. Everyone contributing and working hard for each other. I'll dare say that this group has more chemistry than any Sens team ever.

Great game tonight. Was Elliott first star? I see NHL has Spezza #1 and Elliott #2. What were the TSN picks?

Laugh1 What? Spezza was the 1st star? That's incredible. Elliott and Karlsson would be 2 of my three. Not sure who the other would be. Phillips, Volchenkov, Fisher, Alfie, Michalek?

Um, Foligno? GAME DAY: Ottawa Senators @ Pittsburgh Penguins - 7:00pm ET - Thu. Jan. 28. 2010 - Page 18 54934

I really want Gudbranson. Although trading up is fine.

Don't we really need an elite forward though?

Absolutely! We don't really need another right handed shot dman, with Karlsson and Cowen here. That being said, I still really want Gudbranson.

You know what's a treat to watch? Karlsson. That kid is incredible. He's gonna be putting up Mike Green numbers in a couple of years for us, count on it.

I'm seriously developing a very over the top man-crush on this kid. Every time he gets the puck I feel like he can skate through their entire team and rip one into the back of the net, even though he only has 1 goal this year.

Look at Nashville. They've made drafting quality d-men a priority and they've got so much depth it's embarassing. It's certainly not a bad thing, but I'd still love to add a kid like Seguin, in case he-who-shall-not-be-named gets moved.

This group is much deeper than that one. It's not even close...just look at the third and fourth lines and how those stack up and then look at your defense corps and how they stack up and then look at the goaltending...theoretically, this tandem is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the one we had during our Cup run.

GMs always say the same thing: you draft the best player available no matter who it is. Drafting for need is asking to get your Donkey in trouble.

His defensive game is more than incredible also for his size. He might the 2nd best defenseman after Doughty in that draft after all is said and done. Might have the best poke-checking on this team already.

On another note, Kovalev has to be a star tonight, he was flying out there. When he has the puck all Fisher and FOligno have to do is get open and it's lethal. What's nice is when he loses the puck, FOligno and Fisher are tough and determined enough to get it back from the opposite defensemen.

The team is just complete from top to bottom, so not surprising we don't let goals in.

Oh yeah, this is a thing of beauty developing right before our eyes. No one knows just how good he can be, but I think we've got a taste now of where this is going (Dany Boyle).

It's beautiful. These guys are playing for each other 100%. No trades can be made! We live by the Cheechoo and now we'll die with the Cheechoo. Ahhhhh!
