Elliott playing is better long term for The Sens. Brodure getting sick was a blessing for The Sens, not so much for Bordure.

If you really open your mind, can you actually imagine going on a streak like this with Leclaire in net? Really?
I suspect that if Brodeur hadn't gotten the flu that it would have been him riding the recent success and solid play of the team in front of him. Perhaps not to the level Elliott has but I imagine we'd be talking about 5 or 6 Ws in the last 7 with Brodeur in there.

Leclaire is a number 1 goaltender, Elliott showing he might be a number 1 makes Leclaire expendable perhaps. Leclaire might be injured all the time but he will be the best goaltender on what ever team he is on, including Ottawa. Elliott is just showing he is capable of being the go to guy without being injured all the time, for a lot less as well.
Elliott is stealing the show right now and Leclaire could be the casualty.

Nobody's shipping leclaire out of town until Elliott wins playoff series with this team and Lehner have at least 1 back-up season in the NHL. Which means 2 or 3 years.
Unless of course, next year Elliott plays lights out and we trade leclaire at the deadline.

How does Elliott get to win a playoff series if Leclaire is here? It's rare that your biggest earner will not get the call in a playoff series.

If Leclaire sucks come playoff time, we all know CLouston doesn't give a Dung and will play the hot goalie.

How many games can he suck for? Usually what I see is the series starts, the goalie sucks the first game, the coach backs him up in the post-game and lets him start because he's the man, then he sucks for the 2nd game and the series is over.
