There's nothing wrong with having two-way players play a two-way game and letting offensive players get on the scoresheet.

Isn't that part of balance?

Not at all and Im not sure if this is a good thing or not but Spezza's points are coming at ES. He should be producing more on the PP (with the rest of the team) and playing a little more conservative or being more responsible with the puck ES. If it ends up in the back of the net with your 2 way players on the bench, what does it matter if you have 2 way guys?

Point is Spezza has to be better with the puck even still, turn overs are fine, like on the PP last night where Spezza fanned on a pass and turned it over, big deal. Behind the net trying to center it, w/e, he was trying to make something happen there. At the bluelines and in his own zone, get it in or get it out at ES. There is nothing to debate there.

Crosby turns the puck over and does stupid things to, it's not just Spezza. You're probably just seeing the negative more with Spezza than you see with anyone else in the league.

Crosby very rarely turns the puck over in his own zone or at the other teams blue line. There is a difference between him and Spezza in that aspect in a BIG way. Watch what the great players do with the puck ES and in their own zone, they keep it simple for the most part and if something is there, they take it. They dont force things like Spezza does (which is absolutely his biggest fault as a player)

You know what's cool? Spezza's game still isn't where everyone wants it to be...and he's still making a huge impact. Lalalala

New GDT up. Let's agree to disagree on Spezza, but his one turn-over he was deep in the Pens' zone on the PP. Too bad he passed it to the Penguin streaking to the blue line. It was marginally a blue-line turnover, but at least it wasn a dispy-doodle or behind the back pass at the blue line. Whoever does the NHL three star selection agreed with my assessment. We've both been wrong before -- as have you, Neely.

Oh, and, by the way, isn't Datsyuk in the top-ten most disappointing players list this year? Mind you, so is Pezza, and he's 2nd on the list, but Spezza had missed 20 of 52(?) games at that time and whoever wrote the article specifically said he would not pick on players with significant injuries.

Already said that kind of stuff happens and that's fine. Nothing wrong with a turnover there on occasion.

Datsyuk has 2 cups, 2 selke's, hart trophy nomination, he gets a pass for having on off year with a team in transition.

Which is good, but those ES goals wont be going in all the time, what will we see when things turn a little sour like they always do at some point for every team? What Spezza do we see then? That's why I am not convinced one bit about what Spezza is doing and why those bad habits will end up costing Spezza and The Sens.

Sure, yeah. This wouldn't be the highest I wouldn't imagine. I tell you, I can deal trading him if I get back Andy McDonald and...hmmm....I don't know, a prospect. But I don't want to do it for the sake of doing it.

They will, there's no question. That's twice in the first couple of minutes of a game he's made a turnover that could/should have cost us a goal. It's up to Spezza what game he plays when things aren't going his way, but guaranteed he'll see less ice time under Clouston if he keeps with the turnovers. Regin can do it, the lines are all completely interchangeable. He'll be playing 10 minutes ES and the rest on the PP if he dogs it IMO.

There are still a lot of thingd wrong with his game right now but the puck going in for him will hopefully help him buy into the system and play a smarter game and a more disiplined defensive game, especially in his own zone.

No one should forget that right now this teams MVP is Brian Elliott.

I'm hearing that there are swirlings of the following:

To PIT:

Kovalchuk, Kubina, Peverley, Little

To ATL:

Malkin, Goligoski, Staal

Dominoes to follow...

Big time. He's not the only one, but he's the most important one right now.

Where are all the people that wanted him demoted now just out of curiosity? Where are all the people saying Brodure is the way to go? (not that Brodure hasnt played really well when asked) Where are all the people saying he isnt an NHL goaltender? Well right now, the only goaltender that has been on his level for the last 2, 3 weeks is Luongo.
