Devils are a frustrating team to play against, I don't feel so good about tomorrow's game.

Then again I never thought this team would beat the Bruins with Thomas in net GAME DAY: New Jersey Devils @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - Tue. Jan. 26. 2010 - Page 4 270956

raise, I hope he doesn'T compare their career points.

True they're not really the same kind of D-man (although I think Phaneuf is overrated somewhat).

Even so I expect A-train and his agent to be asking for more than they deserve. He's going to want a lot and he'll want a long-term contract, knowing his value will be going downhill in the years to come, as his physical style of play starts to take its toll.

I'd love for the Sens to make it seven in a row but the streak will end some time right?

Their first line can score a lot of goals. Our 1st line is not as good, but we have more depth. I guess our secondary scoring will win us the game, or lose it.

The key here will be to stick to the game plan. The Sens can't afford to let up at all or the Devils will burn them. If the Sens can play a nearly flawless game then I see them coming out with the 2 points. Thankfully Elliott has been stellar so even with the odd gaff we should still come out ahead. I see this game being a hybrid of the St. Louis game and the Boston game.

They have this Brodeur guy in nets...he's been tearing it up lately....haven't really heard much about him....hope we can beat him.

And the Sens this Elliott kid in net. I think he got first star of the week or something? Sarcasm

Not sure. Better ask Brodeur what he's gotten for tearing it up this season outside of getting a debatable record for Shut outs.

I think the Sens may actually squeak out a win; AND maybe they'll knock that waste of existence Peters out for a bit too!

Seriously though, I want to watch that game as I make a point of watching ALL Sens games, but man oh man, good team or not, televising NJ's games should be illegal! It's SOOO freakin' stale and boring, even heroin addicts eventually get up to change the channel.

Agreed. I've only missed the daytime B's game so far this year but the Devil's and their tandem of Doc and Chico, or Dumb and Dumber, are cringeworthy at best.

There's a reason they're near the bottom of the league in attendance despite a new arena and what seems like a 100 straight 50+ win seasons...

Tom Cruise watches the New Jersey Devils play and goes on anti-depressants.

I attend a lot of the home games, and even though New Jersey is near the top of the conference, I still despise watching the trap. Chicago was much more exciting!

As for the Devils, I absolutely loathe them, but I'm not even giving them the satisfaction this time. We need to dictate the pace this time, liven Dung up a bit.

We don't want him to. I wonder what's being bantered around? 4 million? If so, I'd probably do it, but not for much more than that.

I'm probably in the small minority that doesn't think Volchenkov is worth that much. You just can't pay that much money for a guy who only brings one facet of the game to the table...you just can't. It's cap suicide. I'd honestly rather move Volchenkov for a couple of nice pieces at the deadline as he's exactly the kind of player (style-wise and money) that contending teams are going to be lining up for.

I don't think it's a minority, but count me in, regardless. Then, again, I didn't think Neil was worth more than $1.5M to anyone but Ottawa. And I still think that the Rags/Leafs rumors were just a means to make Ottawa less competitive by overpaying Neil.

Anyhow, I agree on all points. Love what he brings, but it's very one-dimensional (and $2.5M is still a hell of a lot of money).

At home. Twice in a row.

I think the reason Phaneuf is "over-rated" is because he has dropped off significantly from where he started. Maybe too many cigars and too much fun with Elisha. Who knows, but he is still young and if he regains his form then he will be a bargain.
