You have this guy confused for a player he's clearly not...

Maybe but thats where the majority of goals are scored from in The NHL.

If Regin's line can get going the Devils' D is going to be broken down by the second intermission.

Again, the first good chance of that game was kept out by Elliott. It might only be 6 saves but it was the difference.

Seriously though, Cheechoo has to be the unluckiest guy on the planet in terms of scoring goals.

Again, you're confusing this guy for a player he's not...we have guys like Ruutu, Neil, Kelly, Cheechoo, Foligno, etc. to score from within 2 feet of the net.

Spezza has the kind of shot to beat goaltenders from 20 feet out...you have to start accepting this guy for the game he brings and stop whining about how much you want to change his style of play.

Agreed, with any luck, he could have 10 more goals this year than he currently does. Between insane saves, posts and crossbars and two disallowed goals this year.

Was Spezzas goal changed and given to Michalek or is nhl.com wrong?

cbssports is crediting Spezza with the goal but Yahoo and nhl.com have MM as the scorer.

Thats EXACTLY my point. He has to change his style of play otherwise you will see The Spezza everyone cant stand. He has to adjust to teams and players, thats what good players do.

Just a word of advice for anyone who signs up...if you don't cancel within 5 days of subscribing you CAN'T cancel your service. They will continue to charge you until the end of the season.

Foligno gets 1st star so far. That second goal, wow, how do you call it back? And after Fisher's high stick got called back, too. On the high stick, there's no way they could *definitively* say it was high because of the angle of the camera. The call on the ice should have, in that case, stood. And on Cheechoo's goal, the angle at which the puck was going (even though it was fluttering) I don't think it makes it in without the D-man touching it. And on super-super-slow-mo it looked like the puck was touched by Cheechoo's stick at least once as he waved at it.

Why? He is wrong on everything else, let him add this to his resume beside sj, leclaire, cheechoo, the flu, etc

But you're expecting a guy who carries the puck on his stick and has a great, if underused shot, to be within 5 feet of the net in the offensive zone.

But I'm sure you'll be the first to complain that Spezza isn't playing any 'D' when the Devils eventually get control of the puck...

It's just a no-win situation for the guy with what you're expecting of him.
