Just a word of advice for anyone who signs up...if you don't cancel within 5 days of subscribing you CAN'T cancel your service. They will continue to charge you until the end of the season.

i didn't even put it a credit card number ?

I'm just cautioning those that do decide to subscribe.

You have this guy confused for a player he's clearly not...

Maybe but thats where the majority of goals are scored from in The NHL.

Again, you're confusing this guy for a player he's not...we have guys like Ruutu, Neil, Kelly, Cheechoo, Foligno, etc. to score from within 2 feet of the net.

Spezza has the kind of shot to beat goaltenders from 20 feet out...you have to start accepting this guy for the game he brings and stop whining about how much you want to change his style of play.

Thats EXACTLY my point. He has to change his style of play otherwise you will see The Spezza everyone cant stand. He has to adjust to teams and players, thats what good players do.

But you're expecting a guy who carries the puck on his stick and has a great, if underused shot, to be within 5 feet of the net in the offensive zone.

But I'm sure you'll be the first to complain that Spezza isn't playing any 'D' when the Devils eventually get control of the puck...

It's just a no-win situation for the guy with what you're expecting of him.

Spezza has a great shot, no doubt. But he isnt going to be scoring the highlight goals against The Devils either. Spezza also didnt get that goal tonight but he still created a solid screen in front, and again, thats what he has to do.

Expecting a guy to play out of his comfort zone is not an unreal expectation at all.

EDIT: Especially your highest paid player.

Makes a lot of sense to have your puck carrier go to the front of the net so he can be covered and within stick range off the goalie, two defensman and the down low forward. I've heard of stickhandling in a phone booth, but this is getting ridiculous. Spezza in front of the net. I've heard it all now.

It doesn't matter what Spezza does. He could walk on water, and N4L would find a way to criticize him. This won't end until Spezza is in another uniform.

I'm at a loss. The coaching staff really needs to run some drills in practice or something.

Anyways, point being is Spezza wont be successful unless he starts to do those kind of things. I give him all the credit in the world for being there for the screen on Michalek's goal. He doesnt have to score to contribute.

Elliott looks fantastic. Leciare wont be getting back in anytime soon.

Tough to go with a guy when you only have a 3 game sample of his playing abilities. It's just not enough.

But even when he's doing other things and not scoring you still pick apart his every move. Yes, he's the teams highest paid player, but the standard you hold him to is almost unfair. It's not proportionate at all.
