Give up on who? Me or the team? Ahhhhh!

Give up trying to figure out what that meant.

Oh.. Laughing3

I just meant that I have no bad feelings about this game, usually when I do we lose.

I'm not overly optimistic, but the boys are playing well, so I think it'll be a good game.

I feel the exact same way. I think it'll be a very hard battled game no matter what the outcome. I look forward to seeing what they can do and maybe try to snap this curse with Jersey this year too. I don't want to lose the season series against them...

EDIT: We already lost the series...I don't want to be swept by them.

I hope it will be a good game, and not a snooze fest that NJ loves to play. The key to beating NJ is to get the early lead so that they have to take some chances, otherwise they will wait all game for one mistake.

If possible we need to try to control the pace of the game, which could be easier considering we're at home and have last change. I can't stand playing them because they are so boring, but it's harder for them to do that in our building. The boys are riding a high right now, so hopefully they just keep playing an aggressive offensive style and score a quick one, get Jersey on their heels a bit.

This is what I don't get ? Did he forget how to play hockey ? The guy scored 56 goals, he clearly knows (knew) what to do on the ice.

Is he skating faster ? ... is he still ever slowly recovering from all his injuries ?

Did he show up out of shape to training camp ?

Yeah it has...immensely. His skating isn't good, but he doesn't fall down nearly as often and he always seems to find a way (in the last 15+ games) to be in the right place, despite his speed disadvantage. He works hard, which is nice, but he plays a smart positional game and isn't a liability. I rag on him too because of the contract, but he is a real nice 4th liner to have on your team. I'd take him at .6 or .7 mil without hesitation. At 3M, he's a buyout waiting to happen, but I'm excited to see what he brings to the table in the post-season.

If last season's post seasons performance is any indication, he's going to change some minds come April. Some people say he was one of the best Sharks performer last year.

I believe it. I've said for a long time that players earn their money in the regular season, but they show their worth in the post-season... It's the only reason I find myself occasionally justifying the Staal contract...

Seriously, Cheechoo seems to hit a post every game and has at least one scoring chance, if/when those start to go in he could score some very big goals.

All year you have seen improvements in his game, his hands are absolutely there and you see glimpses of that goal scorer. His game is coming around like The Sens game needed to come around and come playoff time, Cheechoo is exactly the player that is going to get that BS goal out of no where and people say "where the hell did that come from". Cheechoo gets 1 game winning goal in the playoffs, that 3 million will look like pennies. Cheechoo is always visable in the playoffs, even last year.

Again, make the net 1 inch bigger and Cheechoo has 15 goals right now. He's been that close on a lot of nights.

agreed, SRK has been good, FFC will be good along the boards deep as will RKN, and obviously trying to get the #1 line going again is a good idea. CC will probably juggle them though at some point if it is not working

With all the posts and crossbars he's hit he must've broken a mirror at some point in SJ. I have never seen someone so snakebitten.

I'm thinking he might start with the lineup from last game, while keeping the practice lines as a fall back. Those were the practice lines prior to the Boston game, after all, so there's no guaranteeing he uses them...

Hey hey guys. I was attending a course at Brookstreet Hotel today, and ran into Lou Lamoriello. Actually spoke to him a bit, nice guy (as snarly as he looks). I ended up seeing Jacques Lemaire as well. Pretty crazy stuff, I was giggling like a school girl (I've never met an NHL gm before...even if its Lou).

In one of our breaks, he was sitting near our foyer and on the phone (trade rumblings?). Take it for what its worth, but I distinctly heard him say "we should send him to Europe". Maybe he's talking about Cormier....

Anyways, thought I'd share that with you guys! No Brodeur sighting in the buffet line though. GAME DAY: New Jersey Devils @ Ottawa Senators - 7:30pm ET - Tue. Jan. 26. 2010 - Page 9 235689
