This is a case where you have to ignore the salary, Murray didn't want him, the Senators didn't sign him.

He's untradable and it's not like he's taking a better players spot on the roster.

Absolutely. But I've been thinking about it more and more recently (I have no idea why) and I cannot understand why WE had to take him. I would have said no chance in hell am I taking Cheechoo, I'll take Clowe or I'll take Couture or Demers, but no chance I'm taking YOUR salary dump so YOU can get a 50 goal man on your team. What the Diddle?

Erhoff was already traded, and Clowe was coming off a career season.

Is he skating faster ? ... is he still ever slowly recovering from all his injuries ?

Did he show up out of shape to training camp ?

Considering a family friend of Heatley works for SJ has me thinking this was an orchestrated plan to get him to SJ and Wilson was in on it

It has been frustrating watching Cheechoo play (I can't imagine what I would be like if I had the CenterIce package and saw his entire play), and go figure he's the one who has stayed healthy. It's not right sitting a player whose playing the way you expect him too, while Cheechoo is greatly underachieving.

It was a bad scene. Heatley could pick and choose and only few teams could afford that ticket. It really narrowed the field.

At the time my dream fit was Nashville. They could have give us some cap relief and decent players in return. But they're too bloody cheap. Same with Minnesota. Besides Smeatley probably wouldn't have taken either deal.

I'm not overly optimistic, but the boys are playing well, so I think it'll be a good game.

I feel the exact same way. I think it'll be a very hard battled game no matter what the outcome. I look forward to seeing what they can do and maybe try to snap this curse with Jersey this year too. I don't want to lose the season series against them...

EDIT: We already lost the series...I don't want to be swept by them.
