Elliott looks fantastic. Leciare wont be getting back in anytime soon.

people are probably getting hate me for saying this but why cant we let go of leclaire and then have the cap to resign volchenkov, lehner can go to bingo in a few years and we can take brodeur good or bad idea ?

Tough to go with a guy when you only have a 3 game sample of his playing abilities. It's just not enough.

But even when he's doing other things and not scoring you still pick apart his every move. Yes, he's the teams highest paid player, but the standard you hold him to is almost unfair. It's not proportionate at all.

Leclaire being talked about by brass more than you think. Your scenario is not that far fetched.

It may come to that but then where is the money to sign Elliott the year after that? You may very well see Leciare dealt if Elliott becomes the number 1 and they promote Brodure, nothing wrong with that thought at all.

Expecting Spezza to be the best player on the ice is not unfair IMO. Being that far off from being the best player on the ice most night is unacceptable.

His weakness is his skeletal system. His positioning is just awful, that's all

You have a lot of money coming off the books that year. There is no concern with signing Elliott as he most likely won't be commanding superstar money.

lmao Brodeur actually made the save with Michalek stuck in his intestines...ridiculous save.

Not it's not unreasonable to expect him to be the best Senator. But like I said, you scrutinize his EVERY move, literally. He makes bad decisions, but so does everyone on the team from time to time. Being the highest paid player shouldn't make him immune to mistakes.

At this point though, see what Kovalev can still do, I dont see how you dont resign him?

Anyways, promoting Brodure as the backup if you can trade Leclaire to Edmonton as an example isnt too far fetched. Elliott will have to show he can be solid for a good stretch here. I feel bad for Leclaire because his tallent is off the charts but maaaaaan, he cant even stay healhty when he isnt even playing. Elliott is showing what a lot of people thought he could be and that is a legit number 1.

Our true number one is not with the sens organization yet, but will be signed as a ufa next year if the talks and injury history remain status quo. We all know the proneness to injury won't go away..

That's gonna be Spezza's goal for sure.
