No, ten thousand curses if it's San Jose.

If San Jose picks him up, I wouldn't be surprised.

At least he wasn't involved in the Heatley trade to lessen the return. That 2nd would be a 4th if Schubert was in there.

At 883, Schubert is an asset to a playoff team. Not a liability. Schubert has the ability to steamroll opponents and just flat-out piss them off because he won't fight.

He's a decent player when placed in the right situations, but he is a drain on any potential return in a trade. He has negative value right now. Last year, he couldn't even crack the Sens lineup in as either a D-man or a forward. Thats pretty sad.

Let's not make him out to be something he's not...He's a negative asset on the Sens, hence the negative return of 400K+ just to get rid of him.

Notoriously cheap. If anyone could have used Heatley, it was them. No surprise this cheap Donkey move fits like a glove.

I have a hard time getting mad at them...they're so sorry in the first place. I dunno, I'm not pleased, but at the same time, Nashville is so....neutral, you know? Schubert on Re-Entry - Page 3 668437

I had them pegged as THE team that could clear up the Heatley mess. I'm less pissed about them picking up Schubert. But pissed nonetheless. Schubert on Re-Entry - Page 3 68747

Me too, I'm still pissed, there's no way around it.

Please clarify this someone:

We pay half his salar, but do we also take half his cap hit?

I don't think so, right?

Absolutely we pay half the cap hit. That's why I'm pissed, there goes 450K in cap space - I could care less about Melnyk having to pay actual money.

I think it's even more sad that we flushed last season down the toilet because of a coach who couldn't put players in the right situations.

I certainly didn't make Schubert out to be anything he's not. So I stand by my position that 400k to get rid of this guy is poorly spent. It's a bad, nickel and dime decision.

Yes, we do.

Did Shabbs beat me this time as well?

Its the nature of the league. Its happening everywhere and Scubert left us no other option, getting so thoroughly beaten at every possible position. What do you do with a with an investment that tanks and has very little likelihood of recovering? You cut your losses and move on. I don't see how this is any reflection on management beyond doing what was absolutely necessary.

Schubert Imo is just one more of the old crew of degenerates and character-less bums that the team has now moved away from. Its about time Imo. I applaud the organization for swallowing a tough pill and moving forward with a better crew.

Didn't beat ya, but yeah, you are right. We're on the hook for 50% salary and 50% cap for this season.

Another interesting thought on this. Perhaps Fisher not skating is an indication that he's injured and if so perhaps Schubert is being re-called to fill out the roster?

Nah, Murray and co. must know that someone would want Schubert for 400K. If that was the case, they'll recall Z.Smith or Cody Bass - or a neat thing to do would be to call up Zubov, but it sounds like they don't like him anymore.

if that is the case, then the Sens are being very cryptic about it, and you would think if they were going to bring him up on re-entry, would they not wait until Friday or Saturday to lessen the impact on the cap? besides, I am sure there are better options than Fisher, I would take Smith first.

Edit: Fisher said he is fine, just clearing up a few bumps and bruises as per the Ottawa Citizen.
