It's not deep like 2009 or 2008, but the first round, especially the upper half, is pretty solid.

It's also a good year for Finland and Russia and kind of a write-off for Sweden after the 2008 and 2009 drafts and the up-coming 2011 draft (which may feature two Swedes going top-5, potentially with Larsson going first over-all).

Bingo Sens Talk - Page 9 668437 Well, there you go. Catenacci was just one name off of the top of my head. I suspect it'll take a little while with him (as it did for McFarland).

Catenacci is Pavel Bure reincarnated. He's got the speed, hands, lack of size, willingness to throw the body, and dekes I couldn't do in my dreams.

Cousins will be a top 5 pick come his draft year, mark my words. Bingo Sens Talk - Page 9 Icon_smile

I'll see your Catenacci-Bure comparison and raise you Hall-Bure. Bingo Sens Talk - Page 9 Icon_wink

Seriously, though, he should be a good one. He's also got a more marketable name than, say, Wheaton King or Wacey Rabbit. Bingo Sens Talk - Page 9 668437

I havent seen enough of Hall to comment, but when you watch Catty, you'll see it too.

I'm honestly not sure why the Soo is doing so well. We may not have the talent some teams do, but we've got amazing depth and they really play like a team.

N4L wrote:I'm not saying trade him, I'm not saying dispose of him, I am 100% saying that he was the right guy to move to Bingo. Lee has had way more opporunties to show is worth then Carkner has.

Do I think Lee is useless, absolutely not. Do I think he has potential, I do. He could be top 4 (someday, not soon) in Ottawa, and being a right handed shot is going to play in his favour as well.

What Carkner brings no one else can and that is a fairly valuable asset having a guy who can play a regular shift and take a load off Neil.

I said Lee look great with Cowen and that one day (perhaps soon) could be an absolute great pairing. If Lee ever gets meaner and strong it could be a devastating pair.

Right now, Lee is about the last player The Sens need, they dont even need Picard at this point. Lee's blessing might be that he is on a 2 way deal, he actually gets to play.

Good post here, N4L. That pretty much sums it up. There are so many factors here in this demotion -- money, duplication of roles/skills, the need to add in different elements that Lee just doesn't bring -- that need to be considered.

Lee should not take this is a "you're not an NHL'er" kind of statement, because this has a lot to do with the current situation of the team. $1.275 mil is just too much to pay a 7th D.

I really enjoy reading how wound up some people get over a move like this. It amuses me. Karl Alzner is a name that comes to mind, every Detroit D-man to come around in the last decade - none of them come into the NHL until management is damn good and ready. Big deal, Lee gets sent down, if he's any good, he'll mature in 3-5 years and go on to have a wonderful career. If he blows this chance - then it was never meant to be.

That's the beauty of these 2-way contracts. cool)

Well said. This is a classic Red Wings move for sure. Lee didn't force himself on to the roster, so he needs to go down for a few reasons. He'll be back, if his head is in the right place about it.

Haha, go JYab. Love it. Would have loved to see him rip that cage off of Bell's face after he took out Alfie.

And MSP had a 4 point night.

He's having a great year. He's tied for 2nd in the AHL with 31 points in 27 games (the leader has 35 points in 30 games). Keller's in there somewhere as well, Hamel, Hennessy. Z.Smith is picking it up a little now.

We have some depth now, which is nice - and I've said for a while, I'd love to see MSP get a real shot for a month, like 15 minutes a game. Anything less and you're setting him up to fair, but give him a shot at a top 9 and see what you have if there's an injury.

To be honest, you should know that he's not playing in North America this year, let alone the AHL.

To be honest I never actually thought we obtained him. I was doing a very poor impression of SSF. Dancing

Maybe, but coaching the Habs is a precarious position usually, I'm sure Cunney has his eyes on Jacques job.
