The only 1-way Lee has the potential to get after this season is a 1-way ticket to Russia. He won't be signed on a 1-way when he still hasn't proven he's an NHL calibre defenseman. I'll be pissed if he spends the majority of the season in Bingo and then magically comes out of it with a Diddling 1-way contract.

Ummm, I think he will get a one way, 2 year deal kinda thing for 500K per. Most young D men like that do get their one way deals after entry level. Look at Picard.

If he plays his way onto the team this season, then thats fine. But if he doesn't (which I'm not sure he can) then he absolutely shouldn't be given a 1-way contract.

Its pretty much impossible to make that statement with anything type of factual support for it.

Lee was just awful under Hartsburg. It was clear as day Imo that Picard was much better in every facet of the game than Lee, during the first half of the 08-09 season. It wasn't until Clouston was here that Lee started playing well and we all know Picard never played for Clouston.
A good reason to hold on to him and see where we are next season, although he's an RFA... he'll serve well if we need call-ups this season and perhaps his new attitude will make for a better situation next season if we re-sign him. Perhaps Clouston can find the right "role" for him and get him to realize his true potential.

Let's hope so. That new attitude thing still remains to be seen. For now, he's still the same presumptious kid that got all pissy when he was cut last year.

He is to me too, but I mean, you dont write off a 22 year old guy with enough potential to be a solid NHLer. Taking that pentalty sticks out in my mind last year but so does the way he looked with Cowen. Lee was phenominal that night and I think that's a direct results of playing with Cowen. That's not a bad thing but Lee has to show more on his own.

As for the right now, Lee is an AHLer and Bingo should be a very solid team.

If Lee spends at least one third of the season in Bingo this year then he can receive a two-way qualifying offer. The catch is his QO must be 892,500.00 for the NHL salary. 105 per cent of this years NHL salary.

Well, doing that obviously gives Murray some options which is another reason why Lee is the right guy to be sent down.

Well, he'd better be able to look good without Cowen because there's no guarantee that will be his partner next year.

In the meantime, Bingo is exactly where he belongs and yes they should be a good team. At least this year we aren't likely to steal their coach, All-Star goalie, leading scorer, and top-pairing D-men.

What if he spends 2/3 of the season in Bingo? What if he spends the entire year?

As long as he has less than 180 NHL games in the last 3 years and less than 60 games in the NHL this year then he can receive a two-way QO.

Well, put it this way, IF Ottawa resigns A Train and Karlsson/Kuba are what people think they will be together, then what's left? You have Lee who will be ready next year IMO for full time duty and Cowen who will be here for sure, he's ready now.

Obviously things can happen between now and then in a big way, but right now that is how I see things going. Maybe Carkner becomes just too good of a D man in that 6 role to let go and is pair with Cowen. (RH/LH pair there too). It's a fairly big deal playing on your natral side.

Qualifying offers for players making under 600K must be 110%
Qualifying offers for players making between 600K and 1M must be 105% but not to exceed 1M.

What about Wiercioch though? If he has another good season in Colorado and plays on the Canadian junior team then I'd say he will probably try to make the team next season. Obviously a lot could change over the course of a year but from all accounts Wiercioch looks like a special player. Lee still could be the odd man out if that scenario happens.

Phillips/A-train
Kuba/Karlsson
Cowen/Wiercioch
Lee

Curiosity got the best of me and I went to HF to look at the posts. One guy said Lee was the 2nd best all around D man in Ottawa... HAHA whaaaaaat.

People are saying he is the 4th best D man on The Sens? Karlsson and Campoli are both better D men. Lee, AT BEST, is the 6th D man in Ottawa which you can def make an arguement for.
Man... it's crazy over there... like someone MURDERED Lee. Total opposite reaction than we're having over here...

Hell, from that 2005 draft, look how many teams passed over Paul Stastny.

What's the story behind that as well. The legend is that the Avs weren't even going to take Stastny, but at the last second felt it might be a good PR move considering the franchise's history with his father. It can work both ways for sure.

He worked like a possessed man after the draft I think.

I think A-Train is gone by the looks of it.

Or Phillips retires out of nowhere.

I dont see him making the jump right out of The NCAA to be honest. Still a stick and needs some seasoning and getting framilar with the organizations system. No way does Wiercoich make the jump with a defense that deep right out of college, can't see it happening.

Let him tear up The AHL.
