SensGirl11 wrote:Did anyone hear about Toskala's .860 save percentage in pre-season? WTF is happening with him? Has he completely lost it or does he need a change of scenery with a good team playing in front of him? Brutal!

He was never all that good to begin with. He was overrated like countless prospects prior to going to Toronto, which is when he became on eof the most overrated players in the league.

Consistency is a word he's never known.

The Flyers just became clear-cut Conference Champs.

Was going to check goaliepost.com but I now see it's no longer free. You have to pay to register to see their goalie grid... which is gathered from scraping other free news sources from around the 'net.

F-that.
No one seems to know for sure who starts... some say Varlamov... some say Jose... we'll see.

I just found out that Vancouver will be away from home for the last 40 days of the season. Holy crap! Talk about crappy times in Vancouver. How can you possibly make a good push when you're away that much. I probably should have figured this out since the Olympics are there, but I thought they would work something out. another arena or something...

I had them pegged for making it far in the playoffs, maybe even the Finals. Now, I'm not so sure.

What? Their schedule doesn't reflect that....

3 of their last 6 games are at home.

Nice.

We'll be able to add a 5.5 million dollar contract around the trade deadline. Wink

Is the Max Contract column broken?

Still not great though, they have 14 away games in a row. I think I was told they are away for at least 20 days near the end of the season. Not great.

NHL minimum salary is, what, just under $500K? That's $6K per game. San Jose is 2 man games lost to injury from being over the cap. They *definitely* could use Schubie-doo to offset one of their other (2-way) contracts.

It's working fine. The Sharks will be able to make a push for the Cup by adding a 24, 420$ player for their run! General Hockey Talk - Injuries, signings, factoids + other news from around the league - Page 10 503175

You didn't understand me. What is the "max contract" showing? I assumed it was meant to show the highest contract on the team.

But I see, now, that it's the same as the cap space, which probably means the max they can put on a contract.

You know how many times a player has to go down and then be claimed on re-entry waivers to get a cap hit of $24K? A minimum of *five* times.

They can't afford Schubie-doo. General Hockey Talk - Injuries, signings, factoids + other news from around the league - Page 10 78253

It's the max contract they can add on that given day. Which is why I checked out February. At the deadline, Ottawa can add a 5.5 million dollar player. San Jose, not so much. General Hockey Talk - Injuries, signings, factoids + other news from around the league - Page 10 668437
