one of the 5 or 6 d-men is bye bye, who's the odd man out?

Cowen is not going to make this team this time around. Just not enough room, and he's coming off of a major injury. Look for a late season appearance on call-up, if he plays lights out in the AHL and we suffer an injury on D -- but not before.

I don't think he's AHL-eligible.

He isnt, Canadian's have to go back to Jr.

It's not just Canadians. It's an agreement with the CHL that players that are still eligible that don't make the NHL team have to be returned to the CHL, and cannot come back that year unless it's for an emergency injury replacement.

Brian Lee should be the #2 defenceman

Nope, not gonna work. You've proven yourself to be legit, I dont like it one bit.

I know I am. But I don't expect a lot, really. His knee was not good enough to do drills at the DC at the end of July. He's got to be just a tad out of shape (all those Doritos) and this will be his first action outside of two-three practices?

Wait, was there a junior orientation camp or is that later? Later, I think.

Edit: No, that was back in August and I'm pretty sure Cowen wouldn't have done much.

Im pretty sure Falitov was playing in the AHL last year, well I know he was. Lehner is aso eligable to play in the AHL as well. It's Canadian and American I believe. Imports dont qualify under those rules.... I think. Def correct me if I'm wrong on this one.

Nah, dont expect much. This is more or a less a reward for him working his Donkey off. Good on both parties.

AWESOME! That kid desreves every pre season game he gets. He wont be making the team this year but he worked his Diddling Donkey off to get back. Thats fantastic and speaks to his character!

Diddle you Heatley

He is a little out of shape though, so I wouldn't expect too much. He is going to be a good one. Good, polite kid too. I spoke to him briefl when I ran into him at Loblaws. He was buying Doritos and dip. LOL!

Well, I think this is more of a reward for working his Donkey off and good for him for getting game ready. That's a tough injury to come back from. Impressive to say the least.
Yep and good on him. His prospect excites me as much aas Karlsson!!!

I'm curious to see how he does, I can't imagine they would be putting him in if he wasn't 100% healthy now. Especially in an NHL game. He's gotta be good to go. I really wasn't expecting to see him at all this year. He'll be rusty, but it should definitely be fun to see him play. Camp cuts and other notes - Page 13 50327

4+ million dollar 3rd winger... makes me sick

Who? Kelly? He's only making $2.1M. Fisher's the one making the big dough but he's listed at center in that particular lineup.

I meant 3rd liner.. my bad.

Who chirp? ya, seems like a good guy. He's just reporting what he hears. I also agree with what he says.

I'm excited to see Cowen tonight. I hope his knee issues aren't as serious as everyone thinks they are. Cowen has the potential to develop into a Chara-esque stay at home defenceman (at the very worst a Braydon Coburn). I have never seen him play before so I'm just throwing this out there, but I wouldn't be surprised if he turns into more of a Brewer or Regehr.

Looking to the next couple of years we could have an amazing blueline: Karlsson, Wiercioch, Lee, Cowen. It would be great to see Wiercioch paired up with Cowen at the WJHC this winter.

I just looked into it some more, and it has to do with where the player is playing when he's drafted. For instance, Lehner was playing in Sweden when drafted, so he's OK. On the other side, Kulikov (a russian) was playing in the Q when he was drafted, so he won't be allowed in the AHL if he doesn't make the Panthers.

Not sure where Lee goes, but he's dropped behind Karlsson on the deptch chart this year, and will likely be behind Cowen next year, if not later this year. Then there's Wiercioch, who may very well "lap" him as well. I don't see the Sens with two rookies in their lineup either this year or next. Not that Lee is a rookie, but everything points to him going back to Bingo this year (2 way contract), so he'll be almost starting over.

Should be Karrlson, Wiercoich, Cowen, and with some luck and progress, Lee.
