I suppose it depends on his reasons. Honesty is probably the way to go. If he's unhappy with Clouston and his role, then say so. But he ought to apologize to the fans and teammates for the incredible distraction.

I doubt there will be much sympathy no matter what he says though....

Anyway, I'd say the Sens need to clear a minimum of $1.6 mil to be where they want to be, and comfortably.

We in these here parts aren't used to this kind of depth... When was the last time we put someone on waivers simply because there were more qualified players to fill the role? I'm excited to see what that feels like

I wonder if Melnyk would pay to have players on 1-ways to play in Bingo this year if they clear waivers :??:

well it won't be too much longer and we should hear something from him, even if it's a prepared statement from Hockey Canada, they want him to clear the air so he doesn't bring the bad press to the camp starting Monday (bad press will probably still happen, but maybe to a lesser degree)

I don't think he'll clear the air at the Olympic sessions... he'll just say "I'll address any and all questions related to the Olympic Hockey Team and Hockey Canada... anything else is off limits."

Maybe the press can joke about it and ask him if he'll demand a trade to the US Olympic Team or something... I dunno.

meh he is turning into one big distraction it seems for everyone, Heatley, man up, face what you did or what your agents made you do, whatever, just get it over with, every day you put it off, it gets much, much worse.

He'll get a good taste of what life will be like as a Senator... maybe it will help him agree to a trade he didn't like before.

okay so maybe you can argue Dany doesn't owe us the fans anything (I disagree, we are the ones that were supporting him), but he does owe the team, Brian Murray, Cory Clouston, Eugene Melnyk, I could keep going here with Sens brass, but bottomline is he has to justify his actions or at least explain them somewhat because there is no justification. As for owing it to the fans, I believe since we are the people buying tickets to watch him and the Sens play (not me, I live in NB, so watching him on sportsnet and TSN is my limitation), we bought the jerseys, defended Dany Heatley whenever another team's fan called him a one trick pony or soft, so hell yeah I am pissed and Dany deserves to tell me why he is being a spoiled little whiner and doesn't want to be here anymore.
