Bobby Orr probably.
Take a nap, come back and see Heatley on the Sens still.

POLL: What will happen with Heatley?
SensFan71 wrote:latest from Chirp, surprise, Ek was wrong.
It sounds like the San Jose Sharks are making another pitch for Heatley this afternoon.
The offer will once again include Jonathan Cheechoo but has apparently been restructured and now includes a different Sharks blueliner.
No word yet on the Senators reaction to the latest offer.

Any thought on which blueliner it has been changed to? Anyone?

This never ending stream of rumours has me thinking he's either tapped Bryan Murray's phone or he just makes this stuff up.
I think the trade (when it comes) will be out of left field.
But we'll see.

Different from who? Vlasic and Ehrhoff have both been mentioned. I guess whoever was last mentioned of those two was substituted with the other?
How is that different? lol

Besides, we're talking about the Ottawa Senators here. Not exactly trade central.

Boyle could have come to Ottawa of his own choosing but he picked SJ. I doubt he would be the guy.

No he didn't. In fact, he phoned Murray personally when Tampa was trying to trade him and asked him if there was a way Murray could take on his contract. Ottawa was his number one choice by a mile. In fact, when Ottawa was in the mix, he was the ONLY choice. It's only after Murray informed him, and Tampa, that he was out of the running, did Boyle consent to go to SJ.

I really don't care about the circumstances. The fact is Dan "Old Glory" Boyle chose to stay south of the border where he could count greebacks in his sleep while snuggled under his Stars and Stripes patterned quilt.
I kid.

to ottawa:boyle, couture and(of course) cheechoo.
to SJS: heatley and smith... give em picard if they want(i think i'd rather keep shubby over picard)
i could learn to love this deal, especially if cheechoo manages to find the back of the net 25 times a year.... hehe
but i'd take the minny deal before, i really think mikko could help us out alot.

I don't think Wilson will see it that way. Boyle is a premier D-man, even if the term of his contract takes him in to his adult diaper years. I would be stunned at this point if Wilson ponies up what Murray wants now, after holding out this long. I say, Diddle Wilson and the horse he rode in on. You had every opportunity to get this guy, but you didn't want to cut into the flesh a little. Take your spare parts and stuff 'em. Cheechoo is not much more than that in SJ atm. No deal is getting done with him as a centrepiece imo.
Murray suddenly talking to Minny seriously makes me think that Minny is on Heatley's approved list. Why would Murray waste time talking to a team he knows Heatley won't go to this close to his self-imposed deadline?
Heatley might very well like Minny, it's a hockey mad market, but a quiet market. Plus, he'd undoubtedly be the man there. They've also got some nice players to get him the puck.
