Pretty much, yeah. I must say...I adore the lineup with him in it. I don't like him anymore, but I like the thought of a sniper with a ridiculous snap shot wreaking havoc with Spezza, Kovalev, Alfie, Fisher ( FingersCrossed ), Foligno.

Meh, Alfredsson takes a huge hit from Beauchemin at center Ice, heatley Drops the gloves and lose another teeth. I can tell you half of SBP will wake up the nect morning with no memories of heatley asking for a trade. :^^^^:

I love it. The tide is turning and everyone is finally realizing that Heatley is not going anywhere. :___:

Seriously though: If he plays the year here and then refuses to waive, I'm going to burn his house down and pee it out Leftie Ahhhhh!

Unless he score 65 and 140 points, I'd be pretty pissed. I'm already allocating that money. Ahhhhh!

Oh Dung...I never noticed he was on fire. I prefer to think that he's all sorts of diddled up/panicked. Ahhhhh! Ahhhhh! <------ Like that guy.

Dave mentioned that Ken Warren/Canwest News today:

If
Heatley does stay with the Senators, they would have to unload one or
more players earning approximately $2.8 million US in salary to stay
below the National Hockey League salary cap of $56.7 million.

Although, there's no real closure on the Jason Smith scenario yet.

I'm not sure I do anymore either. I feel nothing towards him. I want him gone, but I don't care when now. :^^^^:

Those mixed emotions have got us all confused. Will the season start already Ahhhhh!

I'm not 100% but I think Rooney might disagree with that number (assuming Warren wasn't just being "cute")

I think it's closer to 800K to be safely under and 1.5 to have room for injuries, but...we should probably expect a small trade soon.

according to capgeek.com the sens are currently $563 333 over the cap and if murray wants the 1-1.5 M space it looks like he may nee to move about a 2 M contract although if smith is on the LTIR i dont know how much they will have to do

Maybe a small trade, Spez, or maybe just the speculated LTIR announcement. That fixes pretty much everything.

I'm a big fan of that. Smith coming back in February would be really interesting if we're in the thick of a playoff race.

If not, he can be moved at the deadline I'm sure.

even if smith goes on the LTIR i think if he comes back in February we still need to move a small contract

Don't you remember me using it in a post and saying it was Michael Jackson? I followed it up by "What, to soon?"

Man, I wish these people would do their homework.

If you keep the team to 21, with all one-way deals except for Foligno (so Lee and Regin in the minors), and you invoke the bonus cushion on Foligno's $65K bonus, the Sens are actually UNDER the cap right now -- only by a measly $44K, granted. Diddle, seriously, this is embarrassing journalism -- it takes like 2 minutes to figure this stuff out.
