I believe N4L was referring to correctly spelling the name of Hall of Famer Cam Neely. He has gone on record multiple times about his own inability to spell (although that time he got drunk and kept posting, his spelling improved dramatically -- go figure).

Anyway. This is beyond pointless.

N4L, you *are* negative. You can be realistic, correct and still be negative. Those are not mutually exclusive. You also tend to state things in absolutes, seemingly giving no chance to an improbable, but possible outcome. That rubs people the wrong way.

Im negative a lot, here I wasnt though.

The problem here was that even though you tried to keep the convo on course, you also poked a stick at the same time, when you asked him to learn to spell. That's like Mike Milbury telling Ken Holland he's a bad GM.

Anyways, the only two times I've seen this guy he trashed the sight and turned a hockey conversation into some wierd, juvenile, comments about my bad spelling. That's like telling a parapalegic he's in a wheel chair.

If a word was right in front of me 10 times, as bad as I am, I would get it right, haha.

I also didnt really tell him how to spell, I actually corrected him and told him who it was based on and who is was not. Poking him with a stick or not I still talked hockey... he basically left after it turned to hockey again. I'm sure he'll come back saying something stupid fairly soon.

We tried diplomacy; now it's your turn.

May I suggest a muzzle?

Again, look back at the convo and try and see who tried to keep it on track.

Neely,

You are keeping a potentially dead issue on life-support.
Let it go.

Nobody has the need or desire to go back and see who did/said what.
We'd rather look forward to intelligent dialogue, free of distracting side issues.

That means dialogue about hockey, without calling somebody stupid, or an a$$hole, or whatever, and without telling them that they know nothing about hockey.

(Yes, that means holding your tongue, and not saying things, even if you are thinking them. That's why we were given developed frontal lobes.)

Was that my fault? I believe I was the one who asked about your dissertation. Why was the thread locked? I don't recall.

I can't find the original thread. By doing a site specific search for "Edmund Burke" I found the "Luongo Leaving Vancouver?" thread where there is a reference to the other thread, but the other thread doesn't show up in the search.

Was Edmund Burke a Scientologist?

After doing diligent research (thanks to wikipedia), EB was not a scientologist (unless you believe scientology was around back in 1797 when he died).

That was actually a joke. Remember a little while back we had a discussion about John Travolta and I accidentally discovered that Google filters their search indexes to remove pages which might put Scientology in a negative light. I googled direct text from posts and it was not "found", yet search on other threads worked perfectly. I then found some supporting info that Google *is* doing this because of pressure from Them.

Way over my head (or memory) but I get it:)

You think some things are unfairly censored on GMHockey.com?

The one that closed this thread down:

https://gmcentralhockey.forumotion.net/ottawa-centaurs-f31/gerber-vs-blackhawks-t1141.htm

I'd love for someone to explain the decision-making process on these things.

Nah, not anything to do with this site. Google filters their page indexes to remove pages that have material offensive to the Church of Scientology. So if you write some disparaging comments about them -- Scientology Sucks -- you will not be able to find that page through Google.

No idea on that one.

We don't like to lock threads, and as far as I know we don't censor. In this case, things stopped or I guess I would have had to PM the parties and warn them, then lock the thread or ban the members for a week. Shrug

That's all I have for you Rooney. Don't know what else to say.

Perhaps PM the Admins. and see if we can set you up as a mod? Then you can help us out a little? It certainly is difficult to do it by ourselves when people are getting bored in the dog days of summer.

You are correct and you can look at the last post on there for the reason. The thread conversation couldn't have been further from the original topic. Also Gerber vs. the Blackhawks is a completely irrelevant topic. I don't normally lock them when they become irrelevant but when people start posting pages of unrelated comments they can start a new thread instead.

so anyway, Edmonton's threat seems to have gone by without a response from Heatley or the Sens organization, so I guess we assume they have pulled the deal or was Tambellini trying to play hard ball with Dany, it failed, but does he keep a deal or possibility of a deal on the table?
