They would have to otherwise Murray won't do the deal. In any case, there has been no talks between these two teams. Howson already shot it down tenfold.

If that's the price tag then Heatley's staying in Ottawa until a GM gets ridiculously desperate.

That's not a high price tag for Heatley? How quickly people forget this guy is still one of the most prolific scorers in the league.

A deal that sends us Filatov and Brassard and prospect/player is a high price and it's too high for Columbus to pay. I actually don't see too many teams willing to give up two roster players of that age, calibre and potential for Heatley or someone of his ilk.

am sure Huselius is a step from Penner, that should be a given.

I agree with the Cap on this one. Brassard's potential and skill has already been proven through 31 games last year, before his injury, where he amassed 25 games. And Filatov only played in 8 games but still managed 4 goals. The knock on him has been his size, but it did not seem to deter him in the AHL after 16 goals and 32 points in 36 games in the bigger north American game.

But I am very much on board with N4L here when he says we are not getting Filatov. We may get the other two for Heatley, maybe even a prospect like Goloubef OR a 1st/2nd rounder, but no chance we get Filatov. And even then, I could very much see us sending over another Dman, probably Schubie.

What may add a bit to that is Murray tends to like players from the Ottawa area (i.e. Brassard) and like players he has drafted (i.e. Huselius)

Voracek might be better anyway, so I'll take him and Huselius and call it a day.

oh I am sure Ek will queue up a bunch of swirlings for you soon enough, I am more inclined to listen to Sens Chirp a bit more intently now, apparently he had the Kovalev signing 40 minutes prior (give or take) to TSN having it. Maybe something with Columbus will happen after all in regards to Heatley.

Funny thing is the first I heard of a Columbus deal, was this morning at work from a Leafs fan, who said something about Filatov for Heatley straight up, either that was the rumored deal, or that's what Ottawa should be happy to take.

Filatov is a top prospect, and a winger which is good to get back when trading one away. Likely add in a first and Ottawa would have to take the deal.
