Murray did the right thing. Better to hang on to Heatley than get stiffed.

Its nowhere near as crazy as asking for PMB and Burns...

Lupul was a throw away (albeit one with some top-6 talent, nonetheless 100% expendable for Philly), a young potential (however unlikely) replacement, and two late 1st round picks, plus a conditional.

Thats not a crazy return. Thats settling for a return. If Murray accepts a deal like that, I'm not going to fall over myself with Joy.

Dreger mentioned on Twitter that "Sounds like New York will take another run at Heatley today.". He posted this 3 hours ago for what it is worth.

Anaheim didn't want Lupul before, they dumped him; we'll see how long he stays there.

Nonetheless, Lupul is a 25 goal-scoring, 50 point forward with decent size. I'd say he's equal to PMB.

Sbisa, 2 firsts and a conditional pick vs. Burns.

Burns probably still wins, but it's close, and Heatley's value should be higher than Pronger's IMO.

Sbisa, 2 1sts and a conditional are not equal to Burns.

Thats like saying PMB, 2 1sts (neither in the top-20), and a conditional are equal Heatley.

Sbisa will never be Burns' calibre. PMB will never be Heatley's calibre. Those 1sts are crapshoots at best.

Its quantity over quality - something I've seen you argue against doing on more than one occassion.

You're right, although Sbisa looks like a steal from where he went.

One of the two huge Russian prospects, Dubinsky and Staal. We can throw in Lee, but that's the price.

Speaking of big guys, they said Cowan was 6'6"! If his injury is fully healed he could be quite a steal. Memorial Cup (scored the empty netter to clinch it), Gold at the U18 (he was the Alternate Captain) and he had 103 PIMs in a 41-game season. He has "become comfortable with imposing his size on opponents". I liked that, really like that.

Where are you getting that figure? His WHL profile page gives him 45 PIMs this past season.

EDIT: I see you are referring to his pre-WHL career.

Apparently, in the WJHCs he and Joakim Andersson had a bet as to who would boast the best 'stache by the end of it. Karlsson allegedly used mascara to help fill it out.:^^^^:

I can't say I'm happy. I was really, really hoping to get another pick this year. Even more so, I was really hoping to have this done by yesterday. Today my kid was in soccer academy and the kids there were doing a scrimmage, yelling out things like "Spezza, passes to Heatley. He shoots, scooooores!" I almost said something that would have gotten me uninvited from the sidelines. When will this be over??!
