It's a fair question but I think if you use history as a judge it's certainly a better alternative than Phoenix in terms of seat sales.

It's one of those things where only time will tell. I hope I'm proven wrong... would love to see the 'Peg get the NHL back and have it be successful both on the ice and financially.

Kypreos tweeted something interesting...

http://twitter.com/RealKyper/status/13569045235

"Gov't subsidizing the priv' sector in Arizona is deemed illegal. Glendale can't front $25M buyers are asking for. Win'peg here they come!"

Not sure what that's all about...

That's nothing new. This all came to light around june when the "gift clause" was a roadblock in deals that involved any kind of subsidies from the local government.

Even issuing bonds, which is a component of the Reinsdorf purchase, is prohibited by that clause of the Arizona constitution.

So, then it's Ice Edge or bust... a move to Winnipeg!

Just do it already and move the team to Canada. The fans know, the NHL knows - no matter who owns the team as long as it stays in Arizona, they will lose money and obviously the potential owners know that, which is why they keep backing out. The NHL had their best chance to sell the team and they refused to because of personal issues with the buyer, now the league is stuck owning the team and the 29 owners are paying for it.

Remember when the City of Glendale turned down a direct payment of 50 million dollars by Balsillie to break the lease? Oh man! That's still funny!!! What's Next for the Coyotes? - Page 6 62136

The Balls put forth the best offer and the NHL (or Bettman for that matter) let his emotions and his ego interfere with business and rather than do the right thing he denied a passionate billionaire ownership of a team he is now stuck with. The guy's a class A moron and is a cancer to the league.

Somewhere Balls is laughing his rich Donkey off at the NHL.

Exactly which of the 29 other owners wanted him to get the team. When it comes down to it, they are the ones footing the bill now, and it was their decision to keep him out.

Would it not be ironic if he was now working behind the scenes, quietly talking to the league about buying and moving the franchise. It would be win-win, the Balls would get his team in Southern Ontario and the league would have forced him to play by the rules. Both sides would have to swallow their pride, which seems far fetched to be sure, but it would be awesome.

Moving the team to Winnipeg makes more sense for the NHL though. Otherwise they'd have to move a team from the East to the West.

I don't care who owns the team as long as it is in Canada. And I hope the 29 owners are happy to be paying for a sinking ship.

Ice Edge has an exclusivity deal... that means Reinsdorf is out.

I would LOVE Coyotes to go to Winnipeg! How amazing would that be. But I hope they'd be the Jets again. Same logo and all.... ok so I'm reliving my days before Sens were a team. But whatever. It would be nice to actually have lived in a city an NHL team is from.

As far as the team goes, they showed they can play with the big boys, so all they need to do is improve on what they did this season - make a few upgrades and they should be good.

If that team move, no vets are going to be resigning there. What Pheonix did this year wont be repeated, everything went perfectly for them this year. Michalek is going to be an enormous loss, same with Lang.

And if the team stays there they lose money. They will find players who will play in Winnipeg.

You would go for the Jets ahead of the Sens?
