Vermette is going foligno has been going heater is warming up and spezza is spezza someone needs to light a fire under him to get him going

it seems like the only one that could do that is BM when he was coach, but well, he isn't going to do that anymore. Would have loved to see Torts cursing out Spezz for the damn no look drop passes, but well, they missed the boat on that one.

I'll just be interested to see how they come out period.

Oh, I don't think Clouston is 'losing them'. God, give me a break lol, he's been coaching them for what, 10 games? With a D that is filthy? What's he supposed to do, pray that the Dung bags we have on D suddenly become Weber, Green and Pronger?

I think Auld is on the trading block. My suspicion is Murray will be making a play for Backstrom either by trade or UFA. Elliott would be the backup for a few years and then take over from there.

interesting thought Robby, definitely would make sense and anyone here would love Backstrom as a starter, mind you, a lot of people might counter with its Elliot's turn now or never.

good thought Rob, I like it. I'd like to see Backstrom over Khabibulin, as he is younger, but Khabi would be a great addition here.

Backstrom is athletic, poised and has 6 shutouts this season. I was checking his record out dating back to when he played in Finland. Yup, not one losing season.

The last thing we need is a 5 MIllion goaltender that will force Bryan Murray to trade Volchenkov or Vermette next year. I dont know if you guys have watched the last 10 games, I dont remember having seen even one bad goal from our tenders. They had their confidence and they won 5 straight because of goaltendgin and all of a sudden they start the following games like they just woke up from bed.
This team doesnt know what it takes to win, plain and simple. Goaltending doesnt have anything to do with it.

Here's what Clouston had to say about Elliott in today's Citizen:

"He's very similar to what our whole team has been, but because he's a goaltender, it's magnified tenfold," said Clouston. "He has got off to slow starts. Maybe it's physical, mental a little bit, because of the road trip, but he's no different than the rest of our team.

"He hasn't been ready enough to play at the drop of the puck, and when our forwards make mistakes, or defencemen make mistakes, right now (the puck is) ending up in the back of our net.

I don't think Cam Ward is 100% right now so if we can muster up enough shots like last game, a season high I believe, we should be able to get some golerinos!

Clouston single's out the goaltender and then doesnt throw him in there to try and get things turned around, not impressed with that. Not impressed with the flat efforts, not impressed with what Clouston has done thus far honestly.

Next year you will see a new guy behind that bench.

I truly hope Clouston gave them an earful and that these guys ACTUALLY care to give a full 60 min effort from now on...

Stop looking hungover and just hit the ice running. Leave the hangovers for the Habs players...

My first reaction was similar to yours as well Neely, but is it possible Clouston is playing the Shrink with those comments?

Auld's been better recently. What message does it send if you sit Auld and play Elliot?

Elliot will get his chance. There's still 24 games to go.

Or you challenge Elliot to bring it at all times, whether it's practice or game time. Out of all the prospects ranked, THN raked Elliot as 35th. That's amazing, he's not going anywhere and don't forget that Clouston had him for part of last year and the entire time they had in Bingo. He knows what he's seeing and he'll fix it. There's nothing to worry about.
