Game Day: Sens vs. Canes, Feb 24th, 09, 7:30pm EST Ott VS Game Day: Sens vs. Canes, Feb 24th, 09, 7:30pm EST Car

Sens Hopes are all but mathematically eliminated after crushing losses vs. the Canucks and Habs. They looked like the Sens pre-Clouston. They likely need 40 of a possible 48 points to make it in the 8th spot. With games against San Jose, Boston, New Jersey almost certainly providing 3 of those 4 losses I'm thinking we just wait for the math to catch up.

So the Sens can be spoilers? Well it starts tonight with the Canes fighting to get in and licking their chops at the thought that a toothless Sabres team (Missing Vanek and Miller) could provide them with a great opportunity to get in. The Canes will be a hungry and desperate team and will fight for this win tonight. Will the Sens come out like they don't care and hand this one over or will they be so relaxed and play so pressure free that things will start to come easier for them? If they repeat the performances of the last couple games then the Canes will win walking away and this time it'll be Auld getting the hook.

Goaltenders:
Ottawa - Auld
Carolina - Ward

beware Joe Corvo, he likes sticking it to us, a win before the Sharks come in would be nice, will give us a little bit to cheer about, but for Elliot's sake, am hoping Auld does get yanked, will give him a bit of confidence back.

I hope the "playing like Dung in the first period" experiment is over.

I hope the Canes light the Sens up tonight, I really do. Come out like you did the last 3 Elliott stars boys, see how long Auld keeps you in it.

I highly doubt it, is it indicative of Clouston losing them already or are the egos of the big players in Ottawa really that poison? I agree with N4L, we have no idea what is up with these guys in Ottawa right now.

I want to see them win. I'm going to a home game on a Tuesday Night vs. the Canes. If they suck Arse I'll be annoyed.

I would like to see them win a game once in a blue moon. Enough with the spotting teams to 3-0, 4-0 leads.

Come on now.

I don't think its clouston losing them already. I mean if he had lost them they would suck the entire game not take off the first period and half the second then play the rest of the game. they are thinking they are the team that went to the finals two years ago that could (and at time did) take off half a game and still win i have no doubt that clouston drops some f bombs and they come out tonight like their collective a$$es are on fire

I dont think Clouston is losing them because he never had them.

We'll see how they play until the deadline, if they won 12-0 tonight I still wouldnt be impressed, excitted, or generally happy with what happend.

I think the real result will be seen next year after a training camp is run whether it is clouston or someone else if these guys are completely done or are going to turn around.... no worries well be drafting high but i think clouston has some of the players and thats the problem he doesnt have all of them listening yet... Vermette is going foligno has been going heater is warming up and spezza is spezza someone needs to light a fire under him to get him going

it seems like the only one that could do that is BM when he was coach, but well, he isn't going to do that anymore. Would have loved to see Torts cursing out Spezz for the damn no look drop passes, but well, they missed the boat on that one.

Oh, I don't think Clouston is 'losing them'. God, give me a break lol, he's been coaching them for what, 10 games? With a D that is filthy? What's he supposed to do, pray that the Dung bags we have on D suddenly become Weber, Green and Pronger?
