My pool needs some decent goaltending. Leclaire and Bryzgalov aren't cutting it.

Yeah Nabokov was my second pick now that I think of it.. After Zetterberg...

I wish I would have taken Brodeur though.. He was still up for grabs.. It was between the two.. I had no doubt that Nabokov will get more victories but those stupid shutouts are killing me!

Someone took Kipper 1st overall in my pool. I snagged Ovechkin at 2nd, but he hasn't been producing...

I got Hossa later, now he's been lighting it up.

I don't think so. Evander Kane is born in Vancouver, while Patrick Kane is born in Buffalo. There is that, and there is also the fact that Evander Kane is black.
Could the mailman be black?? :D

Man, Kuchin has really fallen.

IMO Ellis and Lander could be higher.

MSP should be slotted either right before or right after Tavares.

This MSP kid is supposed to be special. A Finnish Sidney Crosby from what I've heard.

No, I can see Cowen going ahead of him. He's a bigger Luke Schenn. And as much as we all love to hate on Tavares, he should go top-2.

Duchene shouldn't though IMO.

Also, PKC, MSP is almost purely Swedish by my recollection and I'm not sure Crosby is the best comparison.

If you want to talk good Finnish players though, there are a number of them coming up including Toni Rajala in this draft and Teemu Pulkkinen in the next.

Every time I see Tavares in person, I'm less and less impressed. He may have an excellent shot, but he is a lowsy skater, and his work ethic leaves much to be desired.

Sounds like Jason Spezza to me.

I just think potential-wise, it's hard not to take him 2nd.

MSP might be my favourite player in the draft, too (definitely after Hedman).

I believe he has Finnish family if he isn't Finnish, no?

Paajarvi I believe is a Finnish name from his maternal grandfather, but he was born in Sweden, and plays for Team Sweden.

Meh, either way, I've heard tremendous things about this kid. Apparently he's super talented.

That's pretty harsh. Spezza has been working a lot harder and has improved his skating ten-fold since even two or three years ago. He's a bigger body, so naturally he isn't as fast as a St. Louis. But don't underestimate him, he can get around pretty quick.

I should qualify that by saying it's exactly the same stuff they were saying about Spezza when he was a prospect. Obviously he's turned out pretty well, I don't see why Tavares should be any different. He reminds me of a centre version of Heatley -- not spectacular, but he knows how to find the back of the net.

As for Spezza, I'm one of his most ardent supporters and the amount he's improved is pretty amazing. I think he's on his way to becoming the best player in the history of the franchise.

Anton Lander is another name to remember from Sweden in this draft. Their junior team is stacked, especially if Markstrom and Tedenby (this kid is unreal) play.

Sounds to me like a brother from another mother.
