I agree he's a good fit. Good fit in a lot of places though. But the return won't be much

if we can't get a 1st for him i wouldn't move him and sign him. he's worth more here on a 3 year deal than a second.

It comes down to term. 3 max 4 year deal for pageau. Anything more and he's not worth keeping . $4M x 4 years or $4.5M x 3 years is what i would give him. But man, after a 4 point night while other teams are losing key players, his value is super high on the trade market.

i don't think you over-valued him. he's a d-man that proved he could go up and down the pairings and play some good minutes. if anything Winnipeg got us on this one

I think he was overvalued, he's more of a bottom pairing D-man who you can find in free agency and trade pretty easily

Martinez gets traded for two 2nd rounders.

He's better and signed next year for a reasonable price. He alo scored a cup winning goal. De melo has not

So every single defenceman to be traded recently has commanded a 2nd round pick + another asset...except for one Dman. Can you name him?

I wish dorion got more for him but it is what it is. Let's hope he does better with names, pageau, or whoever else he trades

I don't really know how trade negotiations work, but I imagine every GM of every team knows who is available from Ottawa.  If none of them offer a 2nd or whatever for your player...well...that's not really on Dorion. I think DeMelo is good, but he has 10 assists and 0 goals.  Anyway, I'm not that upset with a 3rd vs a 2nd.  Not the end of the world.  I am looking forward to see what else happens.  I still think we have to sell high on JGP, but I also wouldn't be upset if he was resigned medium term.

The Rangers traded for Jean-Francois Berube (goalie) from Philly. He's been in the AHL all year. Did they make this move purely for AHL depth, or because they are about to trade Georgiev or Lundqvist? Ohhhh baby.

My gut says Pageau will be signed. I also think they will move on from Brown if they get a stud C in the draft.
