I saw the press conference and gotta say Guy Boucher is great to listen to. Good public speaker, I can see why his interview must have been so impressive.

On the flip side, I like Dorion but man he needs some coaching on public speaking. He's gotta stop reading from a paper, it's amateur. And he screws up his lines while reading too.

As I said he doesn't need to public speak that much compared to the head coach who talks every day. A gm doesn't need to be the best communicator to the public. Reading from the paper is what most do who aren't guy Boucher

I said the same thing about Dave Cameron when I heard his first PC.

I don't deny the coach will be talking alot, but I disagree with the notion that a GM doesn't need to be a good communicator.  GMs got a lot of burden with the press + fans, even if they don't talk as much as the coaches.

Anyways, looks like Dorion was telling the truth and BB never really received a formal offer from Ottawa.  Wonder if those asswipes in Toronto (and Ottawa) will finally believe Dorion.

Article wrote:One day after Boudreau interviewed with Ottawa, the Wild moved quickly, landing the veteran coach to reinvigorate the franchise. According to Boudreau, he never had a “formal offer” from Ottawa. He also felt like he jibed with Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher – known as one of the savvier operators in the business. After the Senators hired Guy Boucher, they said Boucher was their No. 1 choice and had the resources to meet Boudreau's price tag of near $3 million per-year.

Yost is too busy being a pathological liar and Dung disturber to eat lunch.

One thing that I've noticed about the Swiss Olympic team is their commitment to team defense. I don't know if that's strictly a national team characteristic, or if it translates through their pro leagues. If there is a "Swiss style" of play, though, I'm glad we have two former Swiss league coaches. I think the Sens will operate a lot differently next year.

Didn't he used to have "hoops and boxing" in his twitter bio? Now it's "hockey and numbers". I honestly didn't think he was into analytics except as a follower and a regurgitator of what others were pushing. Yet he gets the gig at TSN.

I have been told by someone who claims inside knowledge of the Sens management (family member of an executive), that Dorion was ready to offer Julien a contract without a coaching search and was caught out when Boston didn't let him go.

I don't know whether this makes sense, did the Dorion press conference come before or after Boston indicated Julien was staying.
