Silly Season - who will go where?

I'm a bigger fan of what the caps have done in the last two days than St-Louis. I agree with you guys though. I don't see oshie fitting in here with who we have. Unless they would have taken Chiasson In a deal. Which I don't see them doing. It's ok. NEXT deal when BM moves out a dman like NEELY said would happen will be our deal.

I'm not even convinced Oshie is a better player than Brouwer in all honesty. I don't get the move for Washington, they removed a cup ring and a better playoff player and player in general IMO for a guy who had an impressive shootout against Russia in the 2014 Olympics and hasn't done dck all since.

I don't get the love for Oshie at this point, people are massively overrating this trade.

As for the Sens and Oshie, why? Why would the Sens add a guy who brings nothing the Sens don't already have? Makes no sense.

Exactly, Ev said it too, we didn't have a guy like Brouwer to send back. If Murray makes a trade it's a D man, it's a winger, and probably a pick going the other way for an upgrade like again, a Skinner type. That makes sense, Oshie does not.

I was being a little sarcastic, I'm not sure the fabled trade will ever take place but I agree that it is what should happen.

Any trade we make better be a many for one or for picks. We have 8D men (assuming Wideman stays in Ottawa, and given that he's the the RHS D-man that's likely) and Claesson is ready for callup duty, plus I read Wikstrand is coming to main camp and will be pushing for a spot as well. The on the forward side we have 13 if you count Hoffman and Puempel (not counting O'Dell) and you've got to think one or two players from Bingo will be pushing for a spot (Robinson was the last cut at last year's camp, Paul appears ready, Prince and the aforementioned O'Dell).

Any trade should aim at reducing the Ottawa roster.

ROR gets a 7 year deal. Salary is $1M. Rest is signing bonuses of $10, 8, 7.5, 5, 5, 5 and 5. Millions, of course.

That's $7.5M AAV, with all but $7M protected from escrow.

I'm sorry, I know how high on ROR everyone around here is, he is *so* not worth it.

He's more than that, but it's still way too much. Buffalo was over a barrel, there was nothing they could do.

And this is one of the reasons why we didn't get ROR. Too much moola. Not worth it.

I guess we know what Mark Stone's next contract will be now.

If he keeps going like he is, I'd have no problem giving Stone 8 yrs x $7M. He's a guy you sign to the longest possible deal, like EK.

No he isn't, neither is Saad. Took a few days but glad my predictions on both were correct.
