Obviously. And they are quite inexpensive these days.

And think of all the room you'd save. Why, with the TV right up against the wall instead of sticking out 3 feet, you have a bigger room. Which, naturally, means a bigger TV. Check the New Plasma TV thread for links to some 70" and 80" sets on sale.

You'd likely have to run a VPN through the States, since I doubt you can access Netflix in Canada with that thing.

For who?

This box has HDMI out and "Analog AV outputs", which I suspect is composite video (and the rear-view confirms this). I'd pass if I were you. Look for something with component out.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roku
This shows the various iterations of the Roku box. Many of the earlier ones had component output (look for "Both" in the "Component/HDMI" column). The latest such box is the 2100 model -- you won't find it at any store since it was discontinued almost 3 years ago, but you can find it on eBay:
http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.XRoku+XDS+%282100%29&_nkw=Roku+XDS+%282100%29&_sacat=0&_from=R40

I looked at Monoprice but they only seem to have adapters that convert component *to* HDMI, not the other way around. I know they *used to* have the other devices but I think the issue was with content protection (the receiver at the other end of the HDMI cable *must* be able to identify itself as a display-only device, and an adapter cannot).

You know it's all Sony/Apple's fault, right?

I already have an account with Unblock US.

And the composite video will not give you HD.

I think Clutch is only reading every second (or third) reply.

Clutch, re-read again what I said -- that box has HDMI and composite out. There is no component. Composite is *worse* (if you can believe it) than S-Video. Composite video is fine for Pong.

You know, there *are* free ones.

As reliable and hassle free as Unblock US?

I've set it and forgotten about it. Every once in a while I have some problems but, really, I'm with Rogers and I had "every once in a while" issues in the past. I have no idea if the problem is with the different DNS servers.

As for "hassle-free" all I did was set up the primary and secondary DNS server on my wireless router, same as I had done for UnblockUS.

Not sure if this is what you want/need, but there is a deal on amazon.ca for an HDMI to component adapter -- $36 down from $80:
