Personally the Kaberle deal is win all the way for Toronto. He was not resigning with them, and so knowing that, 1st (even if it's late in the round) and Cobourne AND a conditional pick.

don't say that too lound, they might hear it, could see them as a destination for gonchar. Montreal hasn't made much of a splash either, so they better move quick or boston has claimed the division.

If Kaberle got that return.. what do you think the Sens could get for Gonchar?

He is the same type of player.. but better stats over his career. This year is a bad year for him.

As for the Leafs... who is the PMD on their team now?

the two more years on Gonchar, plus his age make the return much less than Kaberle, unless Montreal wants to overpay as Boston is leaving them behind.

Stats-wise, the two may be comparable, but there's way to many other variables to consider like age, cost, contract term, etc. We couldn't expect anything like this return on Gonchar.

Also, we're Ottawa so getting less is a given.
