Forbes has released the latest info on the "value" of NHL teams and the Sens have dropped...

http://www.ottawacitizen.com/sports/Sens+value+takes/2212796/story.html

They now site in 17th place. They were 13th a year ago. The Leafs, naturally at in the #1 spot.

Remember kids, value != performance on ice.

@Shabbs> the Forbes article is not a pejorative judgement about the Sens or any other organization.

It is strictly about the financial performance of the NHL teams. Example:

Kurt Badenhausen, a Forbes journalist who worked on the rankings, said the Senators, financially, are a middle-of-the-pack team that has a solid, money-making arena, but needs to do well on the ice to be consistently profitable. "If they don't make the playoffs, they're going to have trouble making money," he said.

The rest of the Forbes report is worth reading for people who want a greater understanding of how the hockey business works.
