Weircioch takes puck to the throat - taken to hospital

Weircioch took a puck to the throat in tonight's game and was taken to the hospital. Joy lindsay says a respirator is being used on him, but possibly to reduce the swelling. Sounds serious though, hope he'll be okay. Come on patty, we're praying for you!

UPDATE from Joy: Coach Kleinendorst said all he knows is that Patrick Wiercioch is still being tended to, in good hands and in the #BSens' prayers.

Good news from Dreger.

Patrick Wiercioch is in hospital and is in stable condition after taking a puck in the throat in tonights AHL game.

Yikes, shades of Trent McCreary.

Scary stuff, hope he's okay.

Good would have been to get discharged. My guess is he needs more specialized care.

They said there will be no update on his condition until his parents arrive.

KK confirmed that he was taken to Upstate to see a throat specialist.

It’s believed the Senators are waiting until Wiercioch’s parents have arrived from British Columbia before releasing more details.

Wiercioch has been released from hospital and is recovering at home. No more details.

I guess if they are waiting for his parents to arrive, the lack of details to this point makes sense.

I'm sure his family arrived long ago.
