Markov injured in season opener... out for months?

Markov was cut on his lower left leg by Price's skate last night in their season opener. He could not walk on it and went to the Hospital for treatment. He did not accompany the team to Buffalo.

Reports are all over Twitter that he had surgery last night to repair tendon damage and that he'll be out for months. But nothing concrete or has been confirmed that I can see.

Eerily similar to Lang's in jury last year when his achilles tendon was sliced.

This is very bad news for the Habs.

If that guy is out, that team is Diddled.

Oh wow, I'm no fan of the Habs, but that hurts a lot and you have to feel for them at least a little bit.

RDS is reporting that he'll miss 3-4 months.

Okay...holy cow that's a lot to process on opening night. My goodness. I said to SensGirl before the games last night that someone always goes down on opening night and I guess it would be Beauchemin putting AK into next season, but I was wrong. Right team though.

Not sure... they're only talking about "tendon damage" in general.

What a shame. I can't feel happy about something like this (also, remember Karma).

I hate to say it, but the addition of Spacek and Mara and subraction of Komisarek may soften the blow. But I hope not.

Maybe Brisebois will come out of retirement?
