Avalanche Wanna be Seller's for sure!!
For the first time in franchise history, the Colorado Avalanche will likely sell some of its players over the next six days, reports the Rocky Mountain News.
"If the right deal comes up, we're going to make it," Avs coach Tony Granato told the paper. "The majority (of rumors) are someone creating something that looks like it fits for both teams. I think that's where it starts."
According to the News, Colorado's most valuable trading candidates are defenseman Jordan Leopold and forward Ian Lapierrere, both of whom can become unrestricted free agents July 1.
There have also been trade speculation surrounding forwards Ryan Smyth, Milan Hejduk and Marek Svatos, and defensemen Brett Clark, Ruslan Salei and John-Michael Liles.
Smyth, Hejduk and Liles all have no-trade clauses in their contracts and would have to approve any deal the Avs make.
Smyth has indicated several times that his preference is to stay in Denver.
The News suggests one of the Avalanche's most pressing needs is between the pipes, as their goaltending situation has been shaky all season.
