I have to ask: how do you know? 99% of the clips are amazing dangles and goals. So we are all taking someone else's word for it. Clearly the Sens felt differently and I suspect they had scouts actually watching more than highlight reels. Nearly 100% of drafted D men are not good at defending at the NHL level. But also the same nearly 100% don't have those hands. You can certainly teach defence.

If Yakemchuk is playing in the NHL this year he's going to be the steal of the draft (because that would mean his defensive issues were overblown).

From what I've read the issue is gap control an getting beaten on the outside

There’s a few Dmen out there we could target in trade or FA.
Matt Roy, Sean Walker and Carrier are all RHD that are set to hit the market. I won’t be surprised if one of them winds up being a sens.

I’m a bit surprised we are parting ways with Kelly. He showed he could be a competitor.
I guess we’r likely to fill that 4th line with new guys.
