The entire defense looks off, maybe with the exception of Phaneuf.

This is what bugs me. Jaros has been effective every time he's been on the ice, yet he's seen far and away less ice than most.

of course he would, he's a rookie getting sheltered minutes. This isn't something new, most teams would only give small ice time to somebody on their first game

It's worth seeing him more in my eyes and perhaps someone else next. Let's see him against tougher matchups.

Boucher obviously noticed and is playing Jaros more.

I only saw a bit of the first period, maybe about 5-10 minutes. Didn't even notice Chabot. Saw Wideman running the powerplay and it was very weak. Has he lost a step? I think Ceci would have done a better job (obviously he wasn't going to give Chabot a chance).

So the PP is 0 in16, the PK is 9 for 9. Guess that's two positives (100% PK, 16 to 9 advantage in man advantage situations).

P.S. Just heard on the radio that Claesson had the most ice time of all Sens D-men and was singled out by Boucher as his best player.

Ceci was really solid last night. I've been on him to start the year, but he was good.

Yeah, he cut his time as the period wore on again .

Sens PK is very good. Thompson, Ceci, Pyatt leading the way there. Our PP will improve once Karlsson returns. CLaesson got better as the game went on for sure. I thought he's been running around a bit the first few games.

Claesson had a horrific end to the pre-season and it filtered into the real season. He'll be fine.

So one of the "changes" that Boucher wanted to implement this year was the D getting even more aggressive in pinching in. We've seen this with Wideman, Claesson, and maybe most noticeably, Boro. The downside is that it's going to cost us sometimes. I think this is why the D has looked maybe a little more suspect than it should.

Nice to wake up to the two points! I went to bed after the first period.

Oh, and Matrix is great.

Yeah they've been more aggressive. Not as much as I thought though, based on preseason.

Boro has been most notable, I agree.
