Not sure why, but apparently Detroit has signed (or will tomorrow) Trevor Daley. He would have looked good here.
And Tampa Bay will sign Girardi (lol) soon.

I think it's a good thing. We can't be parting ways with too many Dmen.
Agreed. Sens don't seem to be in a hurry to replace Methot so trading Phaneuf as well, at least to me, would signal that they have no desire to get back to the Conference Final.
Honestly I keep looking at kulikov as the one guy that would fit in well
Will there be a bidding war? He didn't do incredibly well. I'm sure lots of teams are hoping to get him on the cheap. My guess is that many teams will try to get him but will limit how much they are willing to offer him.tim1_2 wrote:Flo The Action wrote:And we all know what Melnyk feels about that! Kulikov seems like a good idea, but lots of teams think that, so there's going to be a bidding war. How much are we willing to overpay?

I think I'd be comfortable with 5X5. Hes young. Talented and could possibly be good for a while. Once Phaneuf really slows down and moves down to the third pairing we could be looking at chabot and kulikov as top lefty Dman. That's decent.
And you tell him "so you wanna partner up with karlsson?" Thats a dream position for a Dman.
No... the only reason he wasn't more important last year is because he spent the season injured. I think he's a definite top4. The only question is can he be top pairing? With karlsson he could. 5 might be a bit much but many teams are going to be in on him.PTFlea wrote:Flo The Action wrote:Will there be a bidding war? He didn't do incredibly well. 5 x 5? No thanks at all. I don't even think I'd go over 3 million on a 3 year term, I don't see why anyone would. I'd personally rather Stone, but I don't really want to pay much for him either - and he'll probably go for 4 million. I'd love to get Stone at 3.5 X 3 and ride him into Chabot etc. really coming in.

Depending what their plan for Ceci is.PTFlea wrote:We're not in on him if he's gonna cost 5. Ceci will get upwards of 4 or 4.5 on his next deal, we can't afford to give that much unless it's for a proven top level dman imo.
I bet you do. I dunno. I'd take both player three years ago. Today? I'm not sure.PTFlea wrote:Jokinen and cammelleri being bought out. I like both!
Yeah I get that feeling too. They are going to be dangerous next year! Panarin and now duschene? Ouch! That's what I call going for it. Hey Dorion! Pay attention!PTFlea wrote:Massive offer from Columbus for Duchene that apparently includes Jenner and Murray. Seems like Duchene is bound for Cbus...?
