2017 NHL draft talk

Just thought I'd open up a thread for tonight and tomorrow's draft talk including trades.
Maybe people can post links to any player review sites they are using.

I find it interesting that NJ seems really high on Makar (Understandingly). We could see them trading down from the first overall. This would be the first time In a long time that a team trade down form the first. Something that used to happen quite a bit over a decade ago.
There could actually be quite a bit of movement of picks among the top 10.
I guess it just adds to the excitement.

Who do you guys hope the sens pick?

I wonder if Yamamoto is someone that could slide. Under the murrays we've always picked big dudes but he's an interesting one. Maybe Robertson but the sens like their players speedy.

Seems like there are good players in this draft in the later 1st round but the knock is they all have one noticeable flaw on their game.

Hjamarsson to the totes for Murphy and daulphin
Stepan and raanta to the yotes for the 7th overall and Deangelo.

Wow! Lots to dissect here!

I like these moves from the yotes. This is a team that wants to start competing. Lots of good pieces coming back.
Plus the rangers want to get younger so that's actually not bad for them. Maybe not this season but over the next couple of years you could see this team overhauling their roster.

It'd be really easy to make a stupid move. I said it before and I'll say it again...I don't expect the Sens to do much this off-season.

I'm all for status quo but if the teams around us get a lot better and we stay the same I fear we may miss the playoffs.

Love the Rangers move. I like what Arizona is trying to do but think they are adding the wrong types of pieces.

Saad back to Chicago is good for both sides. Gives the Jackets someone with more offensive upside and the Hawks some familiarity in light of the Hossa loss. Same with the Hjalmarsson trade. Got a bit younger and saved some money.

That's a horrific trade at first glace. You trade Panarin and his 77 points in his rookie year and his massive dropoff to 74 points last year for Saad who's good, but nowhere near as good as Panarin...okay...

You got a decent goalie prospect though (crickets) and...Saad is signed longer (crickets). But...uh...


Then you trade The Hammer for 2 adequate young D-men....but at least you save cap space (no you don't + crickets).

Panarin is overrated. Anyone cna produce with Kane.

This draft is a little anticlimactic.

Can't get over how ugly the Vegas gear is. Jerseys, hats, everything. Feels like it was designed by a 6 year old with limited amount of crayons.

Woah, I don't like this Brayden Schenn trade. The kid was finally coming into his own and if I'm not mistaken he can play wing too.
