2017 RedBlacks

Damn, I forgot to record the game. Saw a bit of it live but when they were up 28-14 and the Sens were on the clock I flipped to the draft, then forgot to flip back. Apparently they got jobbed on a blown fumble challenge (ball was clearly loose before the Calgary player was down but the review let the call on the field stand). Long story short, Calgary goes on to tie it up and the game eventually ends 31-31. Earlier in the game there was another fumble at the goal line that the RedBlacks returned for a TD but they said the ball crossed the plane before it was loose. Didn't see the replay of that one yet.

Anyhow, two games and two blown reviews (another one in the Montreal game the night before). CFL is becoming a joke.

Time for a W and first in the East. Got robbed of at least one point by refs and the command center crew, but given that this is the East, we're still ok.

Bugger all! Can't Blake that one on the refs.

Record is 0-3-1 but they are really 4-0 beating themselves.

Edmonton is still undefeated, right? Time for the stupid law of averages to kick in. A win on Thursday puts them in 2nd, but the Alouettes could pass them again on Friday.

Burris really stepped into it on twitter, saying "You can’t take the leadership of a team away and expect the same results." Oh, boy, that's going to go over well. Sure, they lost some players but they still have a lot of the vets from before Although he tried to explain himself the next day on the radio the only "leadership" that he could have meant was himself. And by saying "take away" it sure makes it sound like he was pushed out.

Season salvaged? When they had all that offense on their first three possessions but could not get a TD I thought this just might be it. Luckily Hamilton is not only bad, but also decimated by injuries.

Montreal is just 1 point ahead and will host the 6-2 Bombers on five days' rest, Thursday. Ottawa will entertain the 5-4 Lions next Saturday afternoon. In other words they could be ahead of the Alouettes by the time the two meet the following week at the end of August. Can't believe summer's almost over.

Pleasantly surprised this morning to find out the CFL does not give out loser points in OT. The Alouettes lost in double OT last night, so they get a big fat zero in the standings. All the Redblacks have to do is beat the mighty Lions tomorrow afternoon and they'll be in 2nd (but the Als will have a game in hand).

The CFL has double OT? I thought they still had ties.

Trying to recall the first game of the season. After regulation they each played a mini-game from the 35. Neither one scored, so they played another set, each scoring a field goal. Then it ended in a tie.

I get it that they need the games to end, but this starting on the 35 it's like some baseball leagues where they put a man on second to start the extra innings. Not a fan.
