2017 RedBlacks

That was an unreal comeback. Down 25-6 in the third, up 30-25 with 2 seconds and a jump ball in the end zone. Two players had it in their hands on the way up, Lions player almost had possession on the way down, but it touched the turf while he was still trying to retrieve it from between his ankles.

If anyone watched it, remember the long (50+) pint return that was negated because of a hold? Why wasn't there a no yards on that as well? Refs in the CFL are so pathetically bad.

Big game tonight. Hamilton is actually ahead of Calgary. If that score holds up and Redblacks lose, TiCats will be just 3 points back with 2 games in hand.

Edit: Stamps just went ahead, but it's still close.

Just finished watching the game. Who needs Sherri anyway. What a finish. Both this game and the Hamilton one before it.

Redblacks stun the RoughRiders with an improbable last minute drive. Hamilton is eliminated, Ottawa secures a playoff spot and, at least for tonight, are first in the East.

This is a theme for Ottawa teams, it seems. It's great.

I read that they just set a CFL record for the most games decided by 7 or fewer points in a single season - 13, I think.

Sinopoli out for the season. Crap. Time for the next guy to step up. Again.

Last game of the regular season is this Friday against Masoli and the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Toronto is back in first with a 1-point win over the Blue Bombers (Winnipeg kicker missed a 40 field goal in the dying seconds that would have kept the Red Blacks in first place). Argos are on their second bye week and will finish the regular season out in BC on November 4. The Lions are last in the West (so let's hope they all play their a**es off for next year's contracts)

RedBlacks playing their final regular season game tonight, ahead of their second bye week. If they beat Hamilton they will move 1 point ahead of the Argos for 1st in he East, but Toronto will have one game left to play, next week in Vancouver. The Lions are dead last in the West and I don't know if they are even playing for pride or just for a quick get-away back south before the Canadian winter comes.

In other words, the chances of Ottawa finishing first are rather slim.

Sinopoli is out for the season, Gavins had to be stretchered off the practice field a couple days ago, and I also see SirVincent Rogers, Mossis Madu and McDuffie on the injured list. Sounds like a lot of injuries, and this may well turn out to be a nothing game (if Toronto wins next week).

Cardiac kids. Down 16-0 in the first quarter, Harris gets knocked out for a few plays, somehow they find a way to come back and get the W. Might ultimately be a nothing game but a 3 game win streak into the post season is always good.

Watching the Lions play the Bombers, now. Doesn't look like either the players or Buono have folded yet. Let's hope they still feel like winning next week, against an Eastern opponent.
