Not even game 10 and, despite all the injuries and difficulties, we're third in the division, and one point back from 2nd with a couple of GIH. I predict that the Sens keep impressing, because I'm impressed so far.
I agree that the numbers look good but all those wins weren't pretty and now we are entering the rest of the season with less than average goaltending and 2 out of our 6 top 6 injured and still with a 2nd pairing that looks problematic.

The system will have to be flawless.

Agreed. It's not an ideal situation, but I really think there's a lot to be positive about.

Also, no one expected the Sens to ship out a pick for a goalie this year, but I for one am looking forward to seeing what we've got in Condon. This Condon better not leak!

Speaking of inserting condons into tight spots ...

Did you just reply to his joke with his joke?  scratch

It looked like everyone missed it.

I wonder if Condon gets *ribbed* about his name?

Kelly moves up, McCormick centering the fourth line.

Boro proves the haters wrong yet again. Nice work by Condon as well.

He was the guy I was really worried about. He had a poor showing last year, IMO. Good for him. I'm sure playing along side rock solid Borwiski helped a little.

Did Turris lose every faceoff he took?

I only was able to catch the third. The D did a good job in their own end limiting the shots.

Watched pretty much all of it on tape delay. Caught up to live for the last five minutes. Vancouver is a desperate team. After playing the night before (and playing pretty hard) that was an unexpected effort. And they came really close to tying it near the end. Except for the last ten seconds or so, they just kept passing it around the perimeter like they did not want to shoot or had no idea of the time left.

Glad this game is over. Now shuffle off to Buffalo, then back home to host the Preds before completing the home-and-home with the Sabres.

That was a pretty solid defensive effort, which sure is something we didn't get to say last season. Karlsson was fantastic in his own end for the most part. I don't remember seeing us block so many shots.

Vancouver is quite bad, so this wasn't exactly a stiff test, but a W is a W. Nice to see Condon get the SO too...he didn't have much to do, but made some big stops in the 3rd when things started getting hairy.

He had a surprising amount of work on the third. There was a shift late in the second, maybe five minutes to go, where the Sens totally dominated. I thought that was the wall for the Canucks and we would cruise from there. But they outplayed is in the third. Condon earned his first start right there.

What's wrong with the power play at home?
