About a snowball's chance in hell I'd say.

I don't know if you guys watched the last interview with BM but he seems a little unsure when answering the question on if negotiations about a contract with Hoffman was in the works. He said that could wait. But wideman was pressing? A little weird if you ask me. Might be problems ahead.

I get the feeling both sides want to wait till the end of the season to start negotiating. From sens perspective, that's not bad because in the end his final numbers may not be that much higher than what he got the previous season.

With BM, the day or two before alfie left for free agency, he came out and pondered 'I don't know why everyone's worrying so much, I expect things will get done soon with alfie'. and then two days later he's signing with the red wings. I won't read too much into his answer except that they're not in any rush. He's still an RFA.

Good problems because I don't want to extend Hoffman. You gotta sell high

When healthy. Right now there's no C for Hoffman to feed off. He's a dangerous sniper despite his shortcomings

Good pick ups for Chicago but I wonder if the old saying "throwing Dung at the wall and hope it sticks" isn't startine to look like what Chicago is doing. Could be a costly mistake if they don't win the cup

At least they tried really hard though. I admire it.

Chicago has a nice system going.   They identified a great core, add at the deadline and recoup the assets when they are forced to move secondary players like Ladd, Buff, Leddy, Saad, Frolik, etc...

The key is they don't unload their best prospects for rentals, they use picks and second tier prospects.

That's actually not true. They just unloaded their top prospect Dano and Danaault was a rguably their beet after him. Their prospect cupboard us bare. If they don't win the cup they will be looking at a darker future as both Ladd and panarin will be gone.

I don't like this latest trade at all for them.

Just like I've been reporting here for months. Glad you're on board.

Panaerin isn't going anywhere.
They still have Teraveinin, Hartman, Panaerin, Pokka and McNeil.

Teravianen is not a prospect. Panarin is not a prospect. Hartman is not a great prospect. McNeil is basically fourth line potential.

Panarin most likely will be too expensive for them to resign after one good year playing with the tip point scorer in the league.

Whatever. People have foreseen their demise for years, yet they still keep moving along. They will find a way to unload the Bickell contract to free up space.

You do realize that Panarin still has a year left on his deal.

Yes I meant after he is done.

Hopefully he regresses next year for their sake.

Their window is small. Their D is aging. They need to win it this year. Especially since Kane won't repeat this season
