Giving them slight credit
, they've been playing without an NHL goalie for most of the season. Mind you I'm not sure they would be winning that many games lately either. Price would of stolen a few.
I hope they don't make the playoffs and therrien gets fired.

Shame on you.

They've come down to reality. They've been overrrated for so many years now and have been saved by Price year after year. We saw it in the playoffs two years ago when they played against the Rangers. Price got hurt and the whole team collapsed. I think it's time they move from Therrien. Washington is clearly the class of the East.

What is missing in this is that the Sens have been horrible in December as well. They were 2 points below .500 on the month (13 points in 15 games) and even worse until the recent (and improbable) two-game win streak (would have been 17 points 21 games). If they had played like they did in October and November they'd be 8 points up on the Habs.

I wouldn't be surprised if they traded for E Staal or Drouin

Stall makes more sense since he can also play RW. drouin is LW and that's not an area of need for them but whatever. I'm sure it would appease the fanbase. And in Montreal that's all it takes.

Also Yzerman really doesn't want to deal within the Conference, much less within the Division. It would have to be overpayment to change his mind (and Drouin is already being overvalued).

Lol well he's not traded, but it gets better:

Jonathan Drouin has been suspended indefinitely without pay after failing to report for tonight’s Syracuse Crunch game vs. Toronto.

This kid is a real Dung show. I'm not sure I actually want him here. People think Hoffman is a head case? Nothing compared to this kid. Get it right kid, you aren't entitled to anything at this point. You haven't shown anything at the pro level. I seriously hope he busts.

I'll let you guys read Allan Walsh's statement.  Hilarious stuff.

Ah screw it here it is.

"When the Tampa Bay Lightning assigned Jonathan Drouin to Syracuse it was explained the purpose of the assignment was twofold; (1) conditioning due to missed games from injury and (2) provide proof that he had completely recovered from his injury. Jonathan has now played seven games with Syracuse in the past (14) days.

A few days ago, the Tampa Bay Lightning advised that a trade involving Jonathan was moving closer to completion. We proposed to Tampa that Jonathan not play in the next few AHL games but continue practicing with the club to avoid any potential injury from preventing an imminent trade. Unfortunately, the Tampa Bay Lightning refused this reasonable request, however, Jonathan was not willing to accept this risk. We have been advised that the Tampa Bay Lightning has suspended Jonathan.

In light of the latest developments it is clearly in both sides best interests that the Tampa Bay Lightning trade Jonathan as there is no reason for Jonathan to continue with the Tampa Bay Lightning organization in any capacity. We will have no further comment as we await the Tampa Bay Lightning to conclude a trade that involves Jonathan."

So guys.....Wikstrand for Drouin? What a gong show Facepalm

By all means...

Don't you think Yzerman let this go way too long though?

Who knows? At this point, it seems like Drouin is doing his best to drive the price down. What a mess. I hope that he's just getting bad advice and this isn't all of his doing.

Drouin is a whackjob, and no, I don't want him here. I don't think Murray would trade for him anyway, as Murray places high value on character.

Funny, there was a guest on The Drive I think who spoke highly of Drouin's character. That was just a week ago or so. I don't remember who it was, it was not one of the regulars.

Last night I heard them say how this is not bad advice from Walsh, and how the agent serves the client. Implication was clearly that an agent would never do this without the player asking for it. But this is Walsh. He is one of the worst at this kind of thing.

Look, it's not like Drouin is saying trade me right now, I won't play until you do. According to Walsh (yeah, I realize the irony given my previous post) the management told them a trade was close, and Walsh/Drouin thought it would be a good idea to not play and risk injury. Sounds legit, right? Except usually it's the team that decides that because if the player is injured the team loses, not the player.

Drouin isn't old enough to be this stupid. It must be Walsh.

Walsh is playing hardball. I wouldn't play hardball with Steve Yzerman.
