I did a quick scan of the so-called internet and no one credible that I could see mentions Ottawa as a potential suitor for Johansen. Nashville seems to be the team that comes up most, followed by St. Louis.

I believe Ottawa are ignored because of their well-known BUDGET considerations.

Pfft. The Internet. What a crock. Lazar + a 2nd rounder gets this deal done.

He's going to score 20+ goals and break Alfie's team record for shorthanded goals (7). *THAT* universe.

My sources concur on this one.... Sarcasm

Ottawa doesn't seem to be in the mix on this one. Too busy hammering out the final details of a deal that will see a top 4 Dman come here. *sigh*

That'll be awesome though when we get a good defenceman.

Ray Emery signed to a PTO by the Marlies.

As mentioned in the GDT, the Sens are just 4 back of the Habs. In all there are 4 teams withing 4 points of the Price-less team. Boston is 3 points back with 2 games in hand and Rask is playing well.

Next up for the Habs is the best team in the NHL, the Dallas Stars*, hot off a stinging loss to the Flames. They'll be spitting nails tonight. Mind you, the Habs might be as well. Should be a good game.

*Tied with Washington but holding a slim edge in ROWs.

I think we're gonna start hearing some Crysby trade rumours soon. And also hearing from Sens fans how Ceci is too valuable to trade for Crysby.

Pierre McGuire thinks RYJO will be traded and they're trying to create a bidding war.

question to the rest: considering we had two 1st rounders last season (and pretty good ones in chabot and white), are you willing to trade next years 1st rounder for a potential deal for RYJO? Likely also means one of lazar and zibby will be dealt too, with zibby being the likeliest.

I'm not sure it will be that expensive but sure.

I agree, I don't see why you would need to trade two first in a deal. Especially with issues surrounding his work ethics.

The price will be high.  If Lazar + a 1st got it done, I'd be surprised, and I'd do it.  Johansen is a big boy who is coming off 63 and 71 points seasons.  Yes please.

That said, I dunno what kind of "character" issues he has, but I would trust Bryan Murray to make that call.  We've had good success with recent reclamation projects of highly touted youngsters (See: Turris, Kyle).

That Will not be The price. Hahaha. It would likely be ceci and zib and a 2nd, then might ask for a 1st.

I know some cant wait to part ways with Ceci but I don't get it. He's still has more growing to do and I do think he's much better than wier or Cowen.
I'd do it if it was Zib, wier and a pick.

But from what I heard we aren't in the running anyways.

You know that and I know that, but I was simply answering the question posed above.

Unfortunately I cannot un-see:
- Wikstrand, Michael
- Filatov, Nikita
- Brien, Jimmy-O'
- Cowen, Jared

Yes, I know not all of them are reclamation projects (Cowen was supposed to be a top-five pick, then fell because of injuries -- he's kinda like a reclamation project). JOB I just three that in there for fun.

Lazar, Wier 1st. Even then you have to consider money in and out. Hoffman will make $5M easy next year, and i believe RyJo is a RFA. Throw in greening and I'd do the trade assuming Chiasson isn't resigned
