Well, unlike some people, I hope he's a miserable failure and the Habs lose every game for the rest of the season.

they want some scoring in return.

i can't imagine what that would cost but having fowler would help us in a big huge way.
could we possibly make a deal that would work? you cant send mac but we might be willing to deal hoffman? maybe add a defenceman to that deal?

yeah me as well but i'm doubt they'd be interested with all the concussions.

If they want scoring then they would want Hoffman. CMac is a third liner on most teams. He had one good season with the Sens playing with Turris. Not much since then. I like him but he's not going to get you Fowler.

They would probably want Hoffman. Might be able to swing weir going the other way also I'm not sure what a deal would look like to be honest but BM should be looking at this. He's got the connection. We'd miss Hoffman but we could manage ok with puempel soon enough. And our back end would be pretty solid.

2007-08: 12th among the Sabres' forwards in TOI/game.
2008-09: 10th (Buffalo)
2009-10: 11th (Buffalo) and 7th (Atlanta)
2010-11: 8th (Toronto)
2011-12: 6th (Toronto)
2012-13: 9th (Toronto)
2013-14: 3rd (Ottawa)
2014-15: 4th (Ottawa)

So outside of his time in Ottawa (a rebuilding team) he played top-six minutes once. I'm not saying that his injury had anything to do with Ottawa's surge last year, but while he was still a top-six player here the team was not in the playoffs picture. And the 2011-12 Leafs team finished 24th in the league.

So I think it's fair to say that "most teams" were better than the Sens and the Leafs when MacArthur was in the top six. I stand by my earlier statement that on most teams he would be a third line player. Right now we have Pageau on the third line, and I think, overall, he is a better player (if a less experienced).

Pageau isn't better than Clarke MacArthur...I stopped reading when you said that. Good thing that was your last sentence.

Hoffman for Fowler? Dream on. Stone, a first, second and third round pick. Then add Paul, Lindberg and another prospect. At least. Maybe karlsson too.

Geeze, I thought you were serious at first until I read past "a first". Honestly, I think Hoffman+Weir is a good start, but nothing more than a 2nd on top of that (farm prospect, preferred).
