Cameron needs to trust his young guys more and have them play bigger roles. This team isn't ready to do more than barely make the playoffs. Stick to the game plan of last year. Let the young kids learn on the job.

Puempel & Prince should be in the top 6.

And yes, I'm aware Puempel is in the minors right now.

There's no way Puempel or Prince *or* Lazar should be anywhere near the top six right now. But it's not like we have a lot of choices. MacArthur is more suited for the middle six than the top six (i.e. 3rd liner, moves up if there are injuries). The jury hasn't even begun deliberating on Prince and Puempel; as for Lazar he hasn't shown anything other than the ability to kill penalties and play 3rd line minutes. It's a bit of a joke that he was on the top line (but then so is Boro playing with Karlsson).

Bottom line is we are a very young tea and do not have the depth to manage through injuries.

Pumpel is a guy that had some success last year up here. It's debatable but I would say he might be more productive if he was up here than lazar.

Pumpel is a guy that had some success last year up here. It's debatable but I would say he might be more productive if he was up here than lazar.

"Some success" for a callup, yes. He was on a 12-goal/6-assist pace for a full season and those are hardly top-six numbers. I'm not at all saying he won't get there at some point or that his production relative to his cap hit was not as good as or better than some other players -- I'm just stating a simple fact.

As for Lazar, if they want him to turn into a 3rd line PK specialist then he's well on his way. If they want him to develop into a top six forward with decent offense, great defense and leadership (Mike Peca?) then he needs to play in Bingo for a little while.

Well that's it, you don't want lazar to be a 3rd liner PK guy. And as for puempel that's the current pace for the season he was on, not really taking into consideration progression. So you have to think he could logically turn it into top forward.

I do hope it's pumps they call up.

Greening got 17 goals in his rookie season, won the team's fastest skater competition and was up there in the hardest shot. As much as we all want/hope Puempel to succeed he simply has not shown that he will. Until then there is no way I can say he *should be* in the top six.

Greening fed off spezza and they are not the same type of players. Not by a long shot. Following your logic no one should be considered a top 6 candidate until they have proven they are. It just doesn't work that way. Some players have the skill set and are being trained to fill these capacities. Puempel is one of those.

It's going to be an interesting game tomorrow. I'm sure both puempel and prince will want to prove things. There's a good chance.
