I don't expect Ottawa to sign anyone today. Were there any Sens FA rumours at all?

Today Condra finds out what kind of interest there is in a Justin Williams-like possession numbers but without the clutch goals and playoff success. If the Sens re-sign him I agree it likely won't be today.

Hoffman is another one, though. Are they waiting to see if someone comes in with an offer sheet?

It'd be interesting to see if Hoffman gets n offer sheet, but these are pretty much never used, so I doubt it.

Anisimov extension with the Hawks. 5 yrs. $22.75 mil total.

That's basically what thy were going to give to Saad.

Small rumbling about Stewart (shocking) and some interest in Ward I would assume. Maybe there is a surprise but I would be it's a very slow day in Sens FA land. I would expect a trade before a big signing.

Apparently the Sens are not willing to go longer than 2 years with Condra. I expect he'd do much better via free agency.

4.55 is fine, the term is very scary. Remember, Anisimov has had his brains jumbled a few times IIRC and is one of those red flags guys.

That's what I would have offered Saad too BTW. That's fair. Then he's a UFA after, so...nothing wrong with that.

Bieksa re-signs for 2 years, 4 per year in Anaheim.

So more than one person on this site has said that. How can Hoffman get an offer sheet if he elected to go to arbitration? You can't get one if you do that.

I believe this is right.

I'd take Stewart on a 1 year deal, but what's the chance of that happening?

I think he would fit here decently, despite the rumours of him being lazy. I think he probably realizes that if he fizzles out there won't be many teams lined up to sign him after this and that could be an interesting motivational factor.

Certainly the tools are there.

Ward is similar, but less talented. More grit though, but seems redundant on this team, no?

I'd love to get Beauchemin or Sekera or Martin though. A real D-man...yes please!

Mac tweets that Belesky will definitely get at least 5 X 5. Barf.

Condra can cash in here, get an NHL pension with his new contract, and bank a lot of $. I think he ends up in Buffalo personally and on a 3 year, 6 million dollar deal.

I really like Condra but unless Smith and Neil are moved out you just can't jam up the roster for 3 years with Greening still being here for 2 more. Just too many bottom guys.

On that note Lee was speaking none stop about McCormick yesterday and he sounds like he's the guy the want to win that Condra spot on the 4th line. Robinson brings a different dynamic but he will also be fighting it out.

I'd bet hard money Williams picks one of those teams closer to winning it all then us (which might be debateable).

He said there were more than a handful of guys he was going to recommend to Murray should see some NHL action this year. Something to that effect anyway. He said he tries to keep the expectations low, but he sees pro players in a few of these guys and in some others he sees near NHL ready players. (paraphrasing).

Dzingel is ready for a breakout season IMO. Look forward to tracking his progress. McCormick is a nice one too. Paul as well. Many neat "safe" prospects coming.

Ward makes some sense the more I think about it. Except he plays RW. If he could play LW, then that's a similar player to Condra in that he's defensively responsible, but he scores more.
