I assume they offered Williams 3 mil x 2 years and he took the slightly higher option.

I think Williams is one of the guys Murray was saying they made offers to. It makes sense and it makes sense that they gauged they market and offered him 3 million (when he signed for 3.25).

Who are the other guys Murray put in offers to? My guess is: 3 million to Ward and 3 million to Stewart - both of which will be beaten out.

The player would actually need to want to come here.
Why do you assume he wouldn't have.

Why would he? No free agents ever do.

They also kicked the tires on a Bieksa trade

Why would we do that? NEELY specifically said we already have too many bodies to be adding anyone. So yeah.

You can't put any stock in what the Sens say they tried to do...they always go down this road, making it look like they were in on all options to improve the team, when in reality they may have been miles off. Sure, we were in on Bieksa, Williams, etc....but these guys were all had with reasonable deals (trade/contract)...so how "in" were we on them?

Must have been a player going the other way then? And Vancouver just wanted a pick? Source?

True. We dodged that one me thinks.

Can you really say that without knowing what the offer was? Wouldn't he be our 2nd best RHD right now? Any chance the silliness will persist today? Sens "in on..."

Any updates on the Tarasenko offer sheet...

St. Louis probably needs to make room for Danny Kristo.

Where did you hear that Murray made offers to any FA?

Too bad shattenkirk is a righty. Would of been a nice trade if we could of matched him with Ceci.

Hmm. Passing on The Shatt because we already have Ceci. Interesting.
