Nice deal for Stone...his next contract will probably be double that. ZBad...as Pierre said this morning on TGOR, "He'll either cash in on the next one, or be finished." What?

Still, nice to see the two biggest RFAs getting locked up...Murray needed these done before he could wheel and deal, as now he knows better what his cap situation is.

Very interesting that Stone's getting a substantial raise over the guy Murray said was our 1LC less than a year ago. Pierre had this little gem (I may be paraphrasing this a bit) on the length of Zibanejad's contract:

That's definitely a bridge deal. It can go one way or the other, there's no other way it could go."

If that's not pure comedy gold then I don't know what is. And I'm old enough to remember Bob Hope.

P.S. He quickly added that after this deal he would either cash in big time or will be gone (those being the "one" or the "other" ways it could go). But it was much funnier before he ruined it with an explanation.

Yeah. I was going to say about the RFA thing but I was just going from generalfanager.com so I wasn't sure how solid that was.

On the trading/chopping block: Legwand, Greening, Neil, Smith, Cowen or Wier, Phillips, Anderson or Lehner

Buckle up, could be a busy few days. We gotta drop at least one of those forward contracts, at least one D, and one goalie.
