The Sens sit 7 points back of Boston, again, but with 2 games in hand. Boston is idle tonight, but the Panthers are playing the Leafs, so let's hope Ol' Bluey can do us a favour there.

It'll be the hottest goalie in the league, Hammond, versus the second hottest goalie in the league, Dubnyk. Who saw that coming?

The Wild will likely have new acquisition, Chris Stewart, in their lineup tonight.

Stewart's going to play tonight alongside Koivu and Vanek. Not bad linemates.

Here's the lines:

Hoffman-Zibanejad-Ryan
Michalek-Turris-Stone
Condra-Pageau-Lazar
Puempel-Legwand-Chiasson

Methot-Karlsson
Weircioch-Ceci
BoroCop-Gryba

No Cowen out there, although insider sources suggest that since the Deadline has passed, it is too late for him to be traded.

We're on a 5 game winning streak and I don't see a single grinder at the forward position. All of them are fairly skilled and not that physical.

Pageau, Lazar and Zibanejad are hitting with regularity and you have a couple of tanks like Michalek and The Stoner steaming their way through bodies to get to the net.

Having those guys be physical is a big reason why we're on the streak.

You can remove the Avatar with the hat SSF. I hear the Bonanza is over.

I don't know, brah. My sources tell me that it lives on...

I'll do some digging and update later in the day.

If they do, does Anderson still start tomorrow? If Hammond gets another shutout (or has a beastly performance), I don't see how they can mess with what's working.

Good idea. No reason to jump to conclusions. Perhaps this is something for our trusted GMH twitterer?

They were dumb enough to put Anderson in after Lehner's run last year so, I wouldn't put anything past this coaching staff.

Let's not forget that

-- Anderson is our #1 goalie and the best goalie this franchise has had in who knows how long
-- Anderson has been awesome all year
-- We're playing back-to-backs here and common practice, supported by the stats, says you start different goalies
-- Hammond is our backup backup and the sample size of his performance is very small.

It's great what Hammond's doing. It's fantastic that he won #1 star of the week. But let's not forget that Andy has been a 'star of the night' in pretty much every game we've played this year, and will unquestionably be our starting goalie on game of the playoffs should we be so lucky as to make it there.

Hammond keeps the net tomorrow, then gets relieved by Andy in the back to back tomorrow. Re-evaluate after their respective performances. And try not, in the meantime, to anoint a career AHLer as our new starter just yet.
